Is the Kustom Stompa in Imperial Armour Volume 8: Raid on Kastorel Novem legal, or has it been updated? If so, where are the most recent rules for it?

Iirc you can use any model from an old ia book it other source for an apoc game. For a normal stompa it's in the new apoc book, for a custom stompa, I have not seen anything updated yet.

It's listed in the FW Lords of War Escalation choices list, with a reference to IA: 8 for rules, so guessing it is and those are the current rules for when you use it.

What it does say tho is that given the listing in IA: 8 uses structure points, and as that book predates the latest WH40k Apocalypse book, that should be changed to hull points with each SP equating to 3 HP.

To leap in here, what about the stomps variants that were in the white dwarf when the stompa was released? (Rok n rolla etc)?

So from the APOC rule book page 58: "Feel free to design your own formations; just be sure your opponents agree to their use before the game starts....Although points values are not strictly necessary for a game of Apocalypse, it is nice to know how many points a model is worth."

I would say all is fair in Apoc based off that, especially if its something from forge world or White Dwarf.

It was then not listed as an Ork LoW choice in the dread mob update, which included all the LoW for both dread mob and vanilla Orks. Its very confusing.

Hmm, hadn't looked at the Dread Mob list. I note Dread Mobs get the Big Mek Stompa in that, which Vanilla Orks don't seem to (at least going by the FW LoW choices list)...?

Given that, and notwithstanding anything else to contradict this...I'd suggest Kustom Stompas are fine for Vanilla Orks in Escalation battles, with Big Mek ones replacing them for Dread Mobs in that. In Apocalypse however you'll surely be fine with either tho as it'll be a grand Orky coalition.
