I'm in the process of making a unification era army atm, albeit at a snails pace due to uni.
However, I've now got access to a laser cutter and decided to have a go
I did the model in half an hour, so its not brilliant, but with a bit more time, I think it could give some really good results.

EDIT:
Been working a lot more on the tank now I've had some free time, looks good so far.
The glue and putty were still drying when I took the photos, so there still needs to be some sanding done.
Anyway, less words, more pics;

I'm just waiting on some weapons from puppets war, then i can get some quad lascannon goodness

Meant to add as well, the track links are beads at 5p each, making total costs £2.50. Pretty good considering a Spartan cost £98 from forgeworld!

Would you mind sharing the template files?

Also, what's the program you use for the design?

It's amazing work and obviously a huge saving on a forgeworld resin one. It will be interesting to see how it look painted up.

I will also throw money at you if you 'can'sell them.

Wow! Nice work! I just got trained on the laser cutter at my university yesterday. I was looking forward to using it to make small parts for this and that, but I can see now I was thinking small.

Sorry guys, I'm not selling, its not my laser cutter and no doubt GW lawyers would have a field day with me selling land raiders
For those asking, the drawings were done in solidworks, but you can use autocad or similar, you just need something to export to .DXF format.

What I would like to ask is, what would.people like me to have a go at next? I'm thinking along the lines of pre heresy, but does anyone have any good ideas.

How about chapter markings to go the tank?
The LR Proteus or MKIIB tank would also be awesome & you might be able to use much of what you've done already.
How about an HH era dreadclaw too?
Or just HH era rhinos - you always need more rhinos!
& with 3 for £90 from FW it'll save you oudles.
BTW how did you work out the dimensions - did you just measure a std Spartan & use guess work for the extra bits?
I use autoCAD myself & might give this a go if I can find a local company that does laser cutting.

Edited because I'm stupid.

Do a Capitol Imperialis - that should keep you busy for a while!

Nice work BTW, instantly recognisable as a Spartan
