A squad of TAC marines can split into two squads before a game. The part I'm not fully understanding in the codex is do they now count as 2 troops choices for the Org Chart?
At first I was under the impression you could field 6 ten man squads and then right Before deployment you can split them into 12 individual squads.
Was I wrong?
Also, if you split a ten man squad into two, could you buy each squad a razorback?

Look at it like this. Its one 10 man squad that can break unit coherency as long as they split into two groups of 5. Then those two groups only have to be in coherency with the model in that group. They still take up 1 FOC slot, they still can only have 1 transport but all, half or none of them have to start in it. The only time you need to think of them as two different units is when scoring comes into play. oh and being shot at, and psychic powers, and oh never minds. Just read the response below.

Yes, you can buy six squads and split them into 12 combat squads.
No, they do not count as two Troop choices for the FOC
Since transports are bought when building the list, and at that time the squad is a single unit, you may only buy one transport per original squad. If split, only one combat squad may start in the dedicated transport, along with any joined ICs.
One catch is that you cannot deploy one combat squad and leave the affiliated combat squad in reserves (see FAQs). Both must start on the table or both must start off the table.

Ok, that clarifies a lot. But what do you mean about the scoring aspect of it? Can a split squad not secure two separate objectives?

No, he means that two combat squads CAN claim two separate objectives. Course, they also give up two victory points if both are destroyed. Up side and down side.

I believe you are also incorrect on the deployment of the squads...one combat squad can begin on the board and one can begin in reserves. There has never been anything stopping this. We choose to combat squad before Warlord traits, then deploy later...at which time they are 100% separate units and can deploy as we wish.
I often deploy my razorback and half a dev squad in reserves and the other half on board.

There has, just not in 6th edition.
5th edition combat squads split as they were deployed. 6th edition allows you to split them before deployment, and explicitly allows for one combat squad to be deployed and the other held back.

Wasn't aware that had changed as well. I'll have to read up on all the past years codexes when I return from deployment next month.

There is no FOC to purchase just a Razorback. It can only be taken as a Dedicated Transport.

I guess you can get a Razorback for your HQS but not deploy the HQ in it. Toss the Marines in it after the game starts

You don't have to embark on a dedicated transport... I'm not sure what your point is.

Buy a tact squad and a dedicated razorback transport. Buy a 2nd Razorback. When deploying the tact squad, split it. One is inside the 1st Razorback and the other is outside the 2nd. When game starts the 2nd gets inside and drives off. Only one FOC spot is taken buy the tact squad with a dedicated Razorback. The 2nd RB is just a point sink but can take the combact squad.

You mean buy a second razorback for a different squad?
Sure.
But why bring up the drop pod ... ? That's what confused me.

Some time ago GW had a FAQ that stated you could buy a drop pod and put nothing inside it. I play DA so it may have been in the old one over a year ago. Im using that point to state you can buy a Razorback and put nothing inside it to start.

Right.
You can buy a drop pod for a unit and not embark that unit in the pod. You can't just buy an empty pod for funsies.

Dedicated Transports must be purchased for a unit. If you thought otherwise, you were incorrect.
