I'm playing a Storm of Magic game in 2 weeks and I'm planning on fielding a dark emissary with my warriors of chaos army. However the base size of the emissary is smaller than any unit in the WoC book. I looked at the LoS rules on BRB but couldn't find where the restriction of who can makes LoS rolls. I remember reading that you can't LoS if the models are of a different type of unit, however I can't find it to check if the base size is a requirement as well. Anyone can guide me to which page should I be looking at?

Also, I'm gonna bring a unicorn as one of my magical beasts, it is going to be a royal unicorn thou, which is a Monstrous Beast instead of beast, does this mean it should go on a bigger base?

Only unit type matters. Infantry is Infantry.

Base size doesn't matter anymore. Only unit type.

Yes. If a base size isn't specified, you should use either a 40x60mm or a 75x50mm base. That is what Monstrous Cavalry are on, and MC is just a ridden Monstrous Beast.
