I took on Skimask Mohaw's chaos marines and LUTNIT's farsight enclave with my orks. We discovered a mythical and a glorious thing we've come to call assault. Made possible by large los blocking terrain. Assault still exists, it's just elusive.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

Thanks for the batrep. Very nice. Armies and Terrain look great.

Are you guys aware the orks don't have to accept challenges? You would just loose the attacks from one character model. Though honestly it is hard to say if that would have made any difference.

Assault is definitely not dead BTW. I regularly assault with my MTO chaos lists, SM biker lists, and I recently won a 500 pts game against a riptide enclave list, using foot IG, by ramming 50 bodies down the Tau player's throat and coming out 1 KP ahead. It was pretty hilarious actually.

You guys should try out the non ranged D heavies before passing judgement on them. They speed up the game and usually just serve to give up more VP than normal.

The rumors about 7th edition have all had CC buffs in them. No telling the veracity but it seems likely.

He wanted to keep typhus from shredding the nobs with his force weapon; I regularly rolled 5s for his daemon weapon so he had a boatload of attacks. I do think he declined once or twice when he really wanted to kill typhus off tho

I love the "elephant" battle wagon. Nugleman needs 5 spawn and a kitbashed "pestilance turkey" for fluff.

Fair enough. Daemon force weapons are nasty against multiwound models. The nice thing about challenges is that they can be used by boyz units to hold up nasties like Typhus for a turn or two. They do add an additional tactical element to the game which is good. The only problem being that orks are not well designed to deal with removing casualties from the front and their killing power is often on characters.

BTW with the glasses on I am assuming you decided to do some coke in the bathroom? I can think of no other reason.

The terrorgeist heldrake is an awesome conversion. There are a number of awesome ones on dakkadakka.

I have a bunch of homemade hell blades with baal flamers on them. They look nice but I have never gotten to field more than 1 of them and even then I usually don't. I really wish they hadn't FAQd the torrent to be 360 degrees. It really wasn't so bad before.

I actually do have 5 spawn I'm still in the middle of converting. Back before daemons got updated I did the typhus epidemius combo all the time (before goat boy made it cool )

Another great game fellas! Thanks! I Love the orks, my brother did a simple black/white metallic look as well. I still think it makes them look the most BA and less goofy.

Another enjoyable report. Tau looking good as before and the two previously unseen (to me anyway) Chaos and Ork armies look great.

I love all the conversions in the Ork force. The Meganobs are probably my favourite after your Grotsnik with DE arm.

Really liked the uniformity of the Cultists and the Chaos force in general. Nice to see the Warp Talons in use. Considered using a Hades Autocannon drake?

Have you guys thought about House Ruling challenges so that you step away from the "Southern Gentleman" idea?

The issue was that the meganobz were in base with typhus but because of the challenge typhus holds all the cards essentially.

As for non-ranged d weapons, I don't own a stompa and if I did it wouldn't feel very balanced seeing as the other side doesn't have anything.

The images don't tell ya much in the way of context IMO.

Thanks, I kinda feel bad about it's size after the official model came out and was much smaller. Agreed on the spawn, skimask's gotta get those puppies converted/painted up.

Thanks dude, I wanted them to be scary but iniform, less goofy and more of a martial prowess to them, like they're trying to be a normal army, in an ork kinda way. I view them as a disciplined free botta army, sellin their services to whoever's got the most teef or ammunition/weapons.

Thanks mang, I'm proud of my meganobz. I really wish grotsnik wasn't on autopilot, kinda kills him for me in a way.

I don't think we'd change anything with challenges, any of the house rules we play with mostly deal with terrain or vehicle wrecks, only big one I guess is choosing warlord traits.

See I always consider it like this. Either you accept in which case you want to fight 1 on 1 and a nob tells his Boyz to git outta his fight. Or you avoid the challenge in which case Abaddon is wandering around the fight screaming your name and gutting anything in his way. I am sure you are to busy hiding to try attacking.

in this case tho it was units of nobs that would have been IDed and warbosses. basically typhus got out of coherency by a lot due to wound wound bouncing and guys dying normally, but was still in combat with a member of either enemy squad. however the meganobs were only in contact with typhus and there was a good 6" between him and the zombies so when he went into a challenge they were locked out

I really need to start painting more models. I'm actually getting tired of seeing that same list in all these reports.
