Scenery for WW2 appears to be as important as models for a decent and varied gaming table.

where are the best places to buy ready made scenery and does anyone have any locations of printable buildings or scratch builds that I could use.

Thanks in advance.

For scratch builds, get some mount card from the art shop - the stuff they use for picture framing - you can score brickwork and other details onto it - and go from there. Start with a simple design, four walls and a roof.

If you are looking for plans/ideas your best bet to google for model railway buildings.

Oh and if you are lucky, there is a German primary school that has plans for a range of German style buildings, including a church... but I can't remember the link...

Model railway shops for OO/HO scenery - reasonably comparable to 1/72, also Javis manufacturing do some 15mm and 20mm pieces.

Airfix and Italeri also make some 1/72 buildings.

For 20mm in the past i have made use of cheap cardboard buildings that look surprisingly good when put together on a table http://www.metcalfemodels.com/ you can normally pick these up cheaper online or at any railway model shop. Obviously used HO scale.

However i now game in 15mm and mostly use 4ground stuff though its expensive it comes pretty much table top ready after construction and the mix of damaged and undamaged buildings really lends itself to the WW2 feel. http://4ground.co.uk/Default.aspx?page=302. Also for urban boards i made use of commission figurines stuff, though that required more work like adding remains of floors and walls internally. http://www.commission-figurines.co.uk/cat-building-packs.html

Antenocitis Workshop do some nice detail bits and interesting bunkers like radar installations for a sensible price in both scales http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/wargames-scenery-terrain/ww2-scenery-terrain/15mm.html also the furniture they do is good for adding details to other ruined buildings.

But otherwise its like Marielle said, a case of getting some mount card and putting the time in. Enough WW2 photos to see what your buildings should be looking like as well.

I've spent some time researching this as I'm making my own 15mm WW2 board at the moment (Western Europe), hopefully these links will be of some use

Fieldworks http://www.fieldworks.org.uk/15mm.htm

Hovels Ltd http://www.hovelsltd.co.uk/contents.htm

Mainly military scenics, sold in the UK through PSC (very cheap) http://theplasticsoldiercompany.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5_47_48&sort=4d&page=2
The pics on PSC don't seem to work for me, so here is a page showing pics of those http://campaign-game-miniatures.0catch.com/military6.html

4Ground, these are some of my favourites http://www.4ground.co.uk/Default.aspx?page=303

Total system scenic, good range of stuff http://totalsystemscenic.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1286_1389&products_id=6335

The Battlefield in a Box line by Battlefront/GF9 provides 15mm scenery as well. It's obviously designed for Flames of War, but should be usable in any 15mm WW2 game.

Ah here is the link... http://www.grundschule-pretzschendorf.de/en/Our_village/paper_models.html

They are N guage, so maybe a little small, but you could probably resize them if you have the technical skills I lack.

Somewhere in south-central England.

If you want to resize paper models it's better to scale down from 28mm rather than up from 15mm.

(I'm not sure that N Gauge is 15mm but it's pretty small.)

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

The 15mm railroad scale is TT. Unfortunately, it's pretty rare in the US (where I'm located). I'm not sure how common it is elsewhere.
