A friend and I were having a discussion about the Fortress of Redemption and other multi-part buildings (i.e. Aquila Strongpoint).

He pointed out to me that on BRB pg 95, it states that if the building does not fit into the normal foot print or is taller than 9" to treat it as multiple smaller buildings joined together.

This raises the question about the Fortress. If you penetrate it and roll a total collapse, does it take out that part or the entire thing?

Likewise, would a weapon destroy be just emplaced weapons associated with the penetrated section or the entire fortification?

The fortress is 4 building joined together. The total collapse section would apply to the section you shot at.

on that note.

The unit inside that section must exit either a doorway or into another section.

If the other sections already have units in them and there is no doorway to the outside, does the unit auto die? Or do they follow emergency debarkation rules as per vehicles?
