So I had a fun idea for an Ork Deathskulls big mek boss. Comments and criticism appreciated.
Kommanda Klepto (175pts)
WS4, BS2, S4, T5, W3, I3, A4, Ld9, Sv4++
Wargear: Supa Cybork body (Sv4++), Power Klaw, Burna, Kustom Forcefield, Mek's tools
Special rules
Battlefield Loota: The Kommanda doesn't waste time waiting for trivial things like winning before starting to loot enemy tanks. Whenever a vehicle would be wrecked or explode from assault attacks by the Klepto and his unit, roll a d6. On 1-2, the vehicle is wrecked or explodes normally. On a 3+, negate all attacks as a result of Klepo and his squads' assault as Klepto successfully pulls the vehicle's crew from the vehicle (usually in pieces) and immediately embarks into it. Klepto permanently gains control of the vehicle with the following modifications: the vehicle becomes open topped, has BS2, and gains a transport capacity of 1 if it is a walker, and 5 if it was a non walker, non transport vehicle.
Klepto's mekaniaks: Klepto may be accompanied by a squad of up to 10 meks for 15 pts each. The squad may take a trukk or battlewagon as a dedicated transport.

I had somewhat similar idea on looting tanks:

Didn't meet much good replies though. None at all I don't think that 350 pts for 15 hardboyz with a nob in a 13-12-10 wagon that can occasionally loot tanks if they're really close, is that effective.

For 50 Points over a Mek with a KFF and Cybork Body, you get...
+1 Toughness
+1 Wound
+1 Attack
+1 Leadership
+1 Invuln
Aaand an amazing special rule, which for some reason you didn't limit at all, so it works on any vehicle. (Looted Baneblade, please...)
Judging by your wording, it sounds like he just gets out if the tank dies, free to loot another. This just seems... Really powerful, for not much cost.

I actually saw that about 5 min after I posted this one, lol. I like the idea of looting in the middle of a battle and I don't think its any scarier than say, a necron overlord on a command barge popping 2 vehicles in a turn. (although I didn't think about how this would handle chariots till just now... maybe just eject the passenger and give a wound?

I even think a base Big Mek is overpriced. Its a 35 pt Nob with +1 Leadership and Meks Tools. Plus compare the (25 point) difference between a Big Mek and a Warboss:
+1 Strength
+1 Toughness
+1 Wound
+1 Attack
+1 Initiative
+1 Leadership
-Mek's Tools
So you're picking up an extra +1 invul, Mek's Tools, and a looting rule, and missing out on the +1 Strength of a Boss for 25 pts more than what a boss would cost. The stats seem fair, to me. The question is whether the looting is worth more than that. Its certainly possible, but I feel like most games vehicles will avoid him like the plague and the special rule won't amount to much.
Well, its limited by the fact he would otherwise have to kill the vehicle, but I can see how looting something with 9 Hull points is a problem. Perhaps instead of negating the Hull Points he dealt, the vehicle would just get D3 hull points instead. So you can loot a baneblade, but its still killable if you've got the firepower.

Well he's still not S5 for the rediculous S10 hits (albiet S9 ain't too shabby). And is "paying" 25 points for it... seems like it should be ok.

This is not a real issue, other armies get more for less, and less for more, this just makes a special ... special character.
I like it, it seems quite fun and that is orky through and through
Something i used to do with my sneaky gits (45kommandoes!!!!!!) is if my oponent didnt mind (so just Friaendly games) is steal a single peice of wargear from an enemy character on one of my kommando nobs, its led to reaper launchers, vox casters, sniper rifles and even a heavy wraithcannon... that one was funny, it works on a 6, always funny haha

The reason that Meks seem overpriced is because, base stats, they are. What makes them powerful (And usually more effective than Warbosses) is the ability to take KFFs and Shokk Attack Guns.
