Hey dakka!

I just finished my first squad of Fire warriors I was quiet happy with my color scheme until I painted my squad leader. I inverted the color scheme for the commander and thought it looked completely bad ass, perfect for my commander...but then I started thinking it would look even better for the rest of my army! I have already completed a squad of crisis suits and my Enforcer commander with my orignial scheme... My question to you oh wise dakkanites is it cool (or accepted at GW matches) to have two separate paint schemes within one army?

I do. My army has many colour schemes playing as the guard and eldar. Perfectly fine in my opinion.

Of course, you can. How your army is painted is completely irrelevant when it comes to the rules.

I bout my Tau "propainted" pffft.... right. They are the standard babypoop brown. I am currently painting them to the Red of Farsight Enclave. So I often rock 2 colors. (I try to keep it so the books units are properly colored though.)

My Eldar are and have always been multicolored. The Craftworld is Ulthwe and painted as such. While all the Aspect warriors are painted in their usual colors.

My Sisters will be a uniform force when theyre done though.

I keep my Space Marines uniform (to one another) because it's part of their theme. I do the same with my Tau. Other armies require less uniformity to maintain the army concept for me (such as Dark Eldar).

I could never bring myself to do that. In fact I could never play Eldar because I never liked how the Aspect Warriors looked out of place versus everything else, but being a stickler for the fluff I could never bring myself to paint them in the normal colors either

The Harlequins are what did it for me. Hell, after you paint and field 30 of those guys, nothing is ever the same again.

Yes, there is no problem in using multiple colour schemes rulewise.
Fluffwise, it is also very simple to justify by making them two different units/armies fighting together or something like that.
