Here is a question generally aimed at our Eldar players:

Can an effective unit, dare I say 'deathstar', be assembled out of 2xJetSeers and Shining Spears?

I hate all the rolling and note taking that is required of Warlock Councils. I also like the idea of lowering the points associated with a fully decked Seer Council.

Adding the Baron should be ignored at this point unless you, a poster, feel that it is the lynchpin to make it all work.

Thanks

I have a love /hate relationship with anything green.

Well, not really.

You need to include an Warlock with conceal. This will make the unit tough to take down by shooting since it gets improved cover and being fortuned the Baron can take the lead to get all incoming hits.

However, the unit is not so tough in cc when compared with a Council consisting of Jetlocks since the Spears have no inv. save.

Without conceal you do not get the +2 to cover save BUT with the baron you do get +1 (bringing your jink up to a 4+ cover save) and the hit and run bonuses.

The Farseers are still granting you fortune (re-rolling failed saves) so is the pseudo-council a good deal? It has many of the offensive benefits of the Seer-star but instead of the dreaded re-rollable 3+/2+ cover save, you have a re-rollable 3+/4+ cover save.

Friendly but still deadly for the points? A good buy and still keep tables from flipping?

Well a 4+ cover save is really dumb when they have a 4+ invulnerable save.... but i guess it helps the spears....
Spirit seer with wings of something solves your problem, but that only works in 2K +
