I am a long time history geek and lover of airfix. I was looking at the site on bf fow and I was wondering if anyone could give me a basic idea of what it is. For example, why did it look to me that there were only three units for the romanians? Can you combine forces? Please let me know, also I am a complete noob when it comes to this game. I am just looking for something to spend my spare modelling budget on.

cheers

dark!

EDIT: After realising what a noob I'd been saying romania had only three units I realised how stupid I'd been. Please feel free to laugh at me as much as you want.

Will give you an idea of how it all works. I would explain more, but I am off to bed in a sec.

If you do wish to try it out, have a look at the Open Fire boxed set, it gives you two sizeable companies to start with, and it is quite cheap to buy.

The rulebook you get with that is going to evaporate, however it's not a product wide issue, it's just got poor binging for that one book.

in short, you have 2 companies face each other ( multi company battles are easy enough to do) each company is made up of many platoons, ranging from 1-5 tanks, or 7-22 infantry.
It various across the various intelligence briefings (army books) German heavy tanks like the King Tiger for example cost about 345 points per tank, while the Russian T-34 early, will get you about ten tanks for that

The games is split into early war, mid war and late war periods.
My preference is late war, but there is nothing wrong with the other periods.

Just a quick addition that you can have the Open Fire mini version of the rulebook rebound at a print shop for cheap and it's good to go.

If you like history and Airfix, why not game in that scale wjth rules that give a more historical feel?
