It shows a picture with a Carnifex equipped with the twinlinked Dev pairs AND Scything Talons, isn't this illegal? Or are they just using the talons for show?

Do scything talons actually add anything to a carnifex? Aren't they only AP6, and thus, it doesn't actually make a difference?

In the rules you technically replace the two sets of talons for the guns

Two sets give it +1 A for second CC weapon.

Actually the build pictured would be illegal as each set of talons is replaced by one set of TL devourers. And these appear to be Dual TL devourers arms for making Dakka Flyrants.

It's actually stated that they are for Flyrants and Carnifexes, so that's why i'm confused =P

Wow, wouldn't have expected them to come out so boring from FW. I've seen plenty of conversions better than the strap-two-devourers together method. Guess FW took note of how Gw handled the Nid codex and went full-steam bland.

I think it's more for the fact that 2 devourers look ridiculously stupid on a Carnifex and leaves it with no real way of hitting anything. The Scything Talons serve no purpose game wise but are simply there for looks.

A Carnifex with no Scything Talons gets a basic CCW at Strength 9 AP 2. A Carnifex with 1 set of Scything Talons gets a CCW at Strength 9 AP 2. Just treat the Scything Talons as the basic CCW, there's no functional difference anyway, it's just model aesthetics.

Also, I actually like Mr. Stubby Arms the dakkafex.

What's sad is that not 2 weeks ago I had two custom made TL devs made for my Flyrant lol although I actually like the ones I had made compared to the FW ones... I may get the FW ones for Dakkafexes though.

Well, those are the only two models that can take two pairs, so that makes sense.

Just for looks though. two pairs of devs on a Carnifex look hilarious, Scytals help with this.

Oh they definitely help with the look which is why I think I'll be using the FW ones for my dakkafexes, I've only built one and it was with all regular devs, looks so.... puny...

Since the talons makeno diff. and it looks better that way Iwould model mine that way.
