Okay, it's funny and all, but would you actually field an army with these?  [RSS] Share on facebook Share on Twitter Submit to Reddit

Everyone seems to like alternate shoulderpads. There's a guy who made some on Shapeways and I just wondered how many people on Dakka would make an army of them?

I can see it now. Player one says, "Wanna throw down? I've got 2000 points of Eldar." Player with these says, "Sure. My Marines just love the Eldar."

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Is that Pedobear?

I think that's fairly silly to be honest, and pretty much spits on any established background, but a lot of themed armies do the same. As long as it wasn't in poor taste I suppose.

Not for me though, as I like the backstory and try to stay as close to 100% as possible, so things like this (or, for example, Stormtrooper Space marines w/Darth Vader captain) just anger me.

Eh. It isn't as silly as Angry Marines or Pony Marines.

I'd play against them, but not with them.

Hey, if a guy can take armies that are bright pink with flowers to major GTs and kick ass with them....anything is possible

Lol!

It's said that their chapter is always looking for young pups to fill up... the ranks.

Wait, Paedomarines don't like eldar. They're all like a thousand years old. That's, like, 982 years too old.

Anyways, if there are people running around with confederate or nazi imperial guardsmen, or slaanesh demons with penis cannons, then I can't imagine that this would be any more offensive than any other of the slag that floats to the bottom of the pool.

One of the showcase armies at my FLGS is a bunch of Marines with bear heads instead of helmets. I think those shoulder pads would go very well with that army.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

At least we'd finally see some brown power armor instead of the usual primary colors we usually see.

No...just no. It's not a thing i would do. I mean Space marines aren't my favorite army anyway, but some things should just stay on the internet and not leave it. This is one of them. It would be like someone saying "rofl" in real life. You just don't do that...

I wouldn't style my army like a creepy years old Internet meme, no. I can devote myself to any number of themes, but a joke that isn't even mine isn't one of them. If I played against someone with an army like that, I'd roll my eyes and assume they were just one of those "the Internet, but in real life" types of people who are pretty hard to stand.
