Hey guys so I have been playing around with my airbrush painting an old tau hammerhead, I started out painting a yellow orange gradient then masked out using a net and sprayed purple over that
Spoiler:

Then I used a liquid mask to keep the next layer of paint off this pattern, I then painted the rest of the tank blue fading from light to dark
Spoiler:

So what do you guys think? Still got a long way to go but I'm happy with the results so far. I know the build isn't great there a mould and join lines not filled properly, but this is an old model I had lying around for years, and had to strip it down. I want you all to ignore these bits and concentrate on the paint job.

Although the gradient is very well done, I think I prefer the scheme in the first picture. Both look great.

Shred City.

The first one is better. The second pic doesn't gel.

First one is pretty damn shweeeeeeet. Second one is meh.
I would paint your entire army in the first scheme.....it would look awesome!!

The first is the best. The second probably would work better if you had the mesh pattern running in the blue as well as the orange/yellow area. The mesh works really well, very impressive.

Or maybe make the mesh run across the blue, as it runs along the orange.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Hmm now I have had some sleep I'm not so happy with the 2nd one. The First one looks pretty sweet tho

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Ok so I decided to strip it and start again, I didn't bother with the blue this time and instead went for the pattern fully over the model.
Still got all the details to do on it aswell as the bottom but here is the process so far.
As usual criticism is more than welcome!

Had a go at doing the effect metal gets when it is heated, thought this would look good on the barrel of the railgun

They are some FINE lookin' models...

I'm happy you chose option A, the blue wasn't working.
I was considering doing the fishnet trick with some stuff, this is excellent, as thus proven by you.

Keep it up!

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

Well thank you for your kind words.
Still got along way to go with it but I'm thinking I might do it as a display piece diorama.
I'm thinking of doing it flying across a river surrounded by the corpses of fallen foes, with some of the metal pathfinders skulking through tall grasses on the banks
