1/48 would be a reasonable fit for aircraft.

1/48 would be an optimal size.
The next size down is generally 1/72 and is too small and the next size up (FOR FIXED WING AIRCRAFT) is generally 1/32.

HELICOPTERS come in 1/35 - there's a complex reason for it and it had a bit to do with them going under ARMY and NOT air force CoCs.

The 1/32 or 1/35 difference isn't that marked, but either of them will be too large for 28mm gaming. About right for 54mm though.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
