Devastating Dark Reaper





Hi guys
what unit that's good for destroying tanks for Eldars? In my mind there is Dark Reapers,War Walkers,and Wraithknights


any other suggestions?

Fire Dragons are one of the best short-ranged AT units in the game. Put a squad in a transport, drive up to the nearest tank and turn it to ash with 5+ melta shots.

For av 12 or less, eldar have a billion options: scatter lasers spiders and wave serpents being the most popular. For 13-14, bright lances and WKs come to play.

I generally run 2-4 BLs with guardians and a WK along with 2-3 WS and a unit of spiders and have little difficulty with mech

Bright lances are great against all vehicles, since the lance special rule makes all AV13 and 14 drop down to AV12...

Target prioritization is important, though. Use the lances against the tough armor first, and use scatter lasers and other lower strength weapons against AV10/11.

Fire dragons are great, but need transport as another poster already said.

Serpent shield can be effective, but make sure you kill it!

Your army is probably the best in the game at killing tanks.
-Mass serp shields even glance out av13 vehicles with ease. But you don't have to as you have the mobility to get side shots. Ignores cover and tl with a scatter makes it even better at glancing out av13 than a tesla destructor!
-Fireprisms are awsome at killing any hard tank.
-Squadrons of war walkers with lances are great.
-Warpspiders are insanely good at utterly obliterating anything not av14. Prescienced warpspiders demolish my ravens (not hovering either) regularly. Their movement is broken when each has a 2 shot st7 gun at bs4. Probably one of the best units to take down the new knights.
-Wraithguard and firedragons in serpents are just insane. In a vehicle that is ridiculous to take down. Drop in front of any vehicle thats not a spartan and boom. Even the spartan goes boom against Wraithguard.
-Jetbikes find it easier than any model in the game (apart from spiders) without deepstrike to get side and rear armour shots with their rending shuriken cannon shots.
-Rending shuriken catapult guardians are even better against av10 and 11 than necron warriors, as good against av12 and can still glance av13.
-Swooping hawks with haywire should also demolish tanks (do they still have that? Haven't played hawks since the new dex).
-Crimson hunters with exarch.
-Falcons would be well worth their points in anyother dex. The fact that they are never taken now just demonstrates the versitility and overpowerd-ness of the serps.
-Wraithknights being an MC and with their speed makes them good tank hunters too.

Poly Ranger mentioned it briefly but I wanted to reiterate Crimson Hunters are boss. It's is one of the deadliest anti-vehicle flyers in the game if not the single-most. It also gets to reroll armor pen rolls against other flyers so it IS the best anti-flyer vehicle in the game from a dice-rolling perspective.

The swooping hawks have haywire grenades which are great tank killers since you can deep strike them into range of tanks without scattering and having to worry about them getting shredded while enroute. I'm not clear on the rules for the haywire grenades though. Can more than one hawk throw a haywire greade per turn?

Forgeworld hornets. With their 36" zoom they can drop in behind anything and fling pulse lasers into side or rear armour. If you can get a wraithlord into close combat, they'll ensquishenate very effectively. War walkers with bright lances are squishy but cheap, vypers even more so, but with much maneuverabilities, yessiree. Three vibro cannons on the same tank is funny, too, and a mere 90 points.

Do note that the shuriken catapults only have bladestorm, not rending so you only get the rending rules against infantry and not the +D3 on a 6 against vehicles. However 2 or 3 shuriken cannons with their 3 S6 shots each is still a decent way to glance rear armour.

Warp spiders are more reliable. 10, str 7 shots for 95 points. Plus a D6 run to reposition first. Gets through side and rear armor nicely. They compete with pretty much nothing for force org slots too.

That said I bring 3 walkers and 2 squads of 5 spiders...

Fire Prisms. S: 9 Lance means its better than a railgun against AV14. They're my go-to anti tank option.
