Just finished Typhus and I'm looking for some feedback on his paint job. I will be using him as a reference for my plague marine army. I plan to paint all the miniatures to this level of detail. Also does anyone have any ideas on how to base him? Feedback and criticism is very welcome! Now with better pictures!

One with flash for comparison

Looks a bit dark but I think that's more due to the camera & lighting you're using??
Otherwise from what I assume it looks great!.
Have you looked at Spellcrow for plague marine models or are you going to use the FW bits, just use standard CSMs or converted CSMs?
Will watch in interest.

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Thank you so much for the reply! I was using my phone camera without any lights on. (not much of a photographer, lol) Thank you so much that's very kind! I'm glad you like it. As of right now I plan to purchase 3 PM squads just the regular finecast ones from GW. I also plan to purchase a terminator squad that I will use the FW nurgle conversion kit on because I thought it looks amazing. Also I will be swapping the pics out for better ones momentarily I used my camera for a more accurate representation. Let me know if you think he's still a little to dark as I had a similar thought.

Looks good but, you have the same problem I do when taking photos. LOL

Hey mate - i think he looks great!
I'd personally like to see some more rust/corrosion on the scythe, plus some oxidisation on the brassy coloured areas to give him that really old and corrupted look.
But otherwise you've nailed the bleakness of Typhus

For bases - it depends on if you were going to be doing it yourself or buying bases.

if you want to buy some to paint you can't go wrong with the corpse field bases from Secret Weapon miniatures
http://www.slavetopainting.com/products/basing-terrain-conversions/scenic-bases/40mm-bases/beveled-edge-40mm-corpse.aspx

Also, from the same manufacturer, there's the blasted wetlands or bone fields bases. All would be a great choice for a Nurgle army.

If you're doing it yourself then maybe something muddy with some puddles of slime made using some water effects stuff and green paint, or just green paint and gloss varnish over some PVA. Could look really cool.

Phone cameras certainly aren't the best! Thank you very much for the weather effects idea! I'm going to pick up some weathering powders tomorrow and test them on the Plague Marine I'm painting tonight. I'll have a look around on that site to see if something gives me an idea.
