Hi, so lately me and a friend have decided to start infinity, he's playing Aleph. Ive been bouncing between factions lately (nomads, ariadna (hence why there's a thread about ariadna i started a couple down, sorry!) and haqqislam) but have settled on Nomads, at least to start with. I'm not sure whether to go vanilla or corregidor, ill probably start with the corregidor starter, and i love almost all the corregidor stuff, but theres also stuff in vanilla i really like (zeros, spektrs, prowlers...)
Anyway, i was wondering if someone could help me come up with a decent 200pt list, based off the corregidor starter? If possible, id LOVE the Iguana in there, but im guessing thats not a good move at 200 points?
Thanks for the help guys. Automatically Appended Next Post: Okay so i came up with a quick list, how is this?
JURISDICTIONAL COMMAND OF CORREGIDOR
──────────────────────────────────────────────────
GROUP 1 8 0 0
ALGUACIL Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. ( 10)
ALGUACIL Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. ( 10)
ALGUACIL Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. ( 10)
TOMCAT Engineer Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. ( 22)
INTRUDER Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. ( 36)
WILDCAT Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. ( 19)
WILDCAT Lieutenant Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. ( 19)
IGUANA HMG, Heavy Flamethrower / . (2 | 73)
IGUANA OPERATOR HMG / Pistol, Knife.
2 SWC | 199 Points
Open with Army 4
Im guessing it might be a bit order starved?

I don't think it is that bad, at 200 points and including a T.A.G.
Time will tell, as will its performance on the table vs. your usual opponents!

I would exchange the 2 wildcats you have for 2 Alguacils. I dont know if you intend to start off with link teams from the word go but I think point for point Alguacils get the biggest benefit of being in a full link as it actually makes them pretty decent. I know there's a lot of consensus out there not to start off with links, but its up to you. When my crowd started we just chucked everything in an fumbled through it, worked out fine after 2 games like that.
Having 5 Alguacils would also give you another easy source of long range hitting power, with either the missile launcher or HMG (note you will only have 1 SWC left as of the Alguacil Lieutenant). I'd suggest the HMG generally as its easier to hide behind higher burst when your BS is low. I would only go for a missile in a full link... even then... role dependant.
It would be nice to have a HMG on that intruder, but without some noticeable rejigging of your list I cant see it fitting in there.
So for example:
Iguana 2 | 73
Intruder Combi 0 | 36
Tomcat Eng 0 | 22
Alguacil Lt 1 | 10
Alguacil HMG 1 | 19
Alguacil Combi 0 | 10
Alguacil Combi 0 | 10
Alguacil Combi 0 | 10
Alguacil Combi 0 | 10
9 dudes 4 | 200
And you've even got an extra Alguacil. Bit of redundancy for maintaining a full link of 5 and another order. In your original list orders were tight, but not too bad. The intruder and iguana would be the obvious competitors for them. And the tomcat would probably use up the majority of your pool the turn she comes in.
The main problem I seen with this is that you would really only want to use the link team defensively. If that HMG goes down, the rest of the link is pretty much boned. So you wont be using her in your active turn. Fear the AROs!

The minelayer and spitting prowler are nice choices. However I dont feel having all those wildcats will bring much. I tend to find that outside of a link, wildcats often become psuedo alguacils; i.e order monkeys. This is because they aren't that terriffic alone, slow movement, low arm for a MI and average willpower. The only one I really consider taking solo is a hacker seeing as they have a weirdly high BTS. Dont get me wrong, they're still more than capable of killing something, its just not that easy to get them into a favourable position to do so. And often favourable position >> favourable stats. So for your 200pts list I'd consider some drop troops, either a tomcat or a hellcat. I dont know if you'll have objectives starting off, so you could add in a tomcat doctor. Their mobility is useful and they still pack a punch. Then if you do start with objectives, can just make it an engineer. Or for a bit more of a unpredictable surprise a Boarding shotgun hellcat. Cheap and versatile, the AP rounds are good for hard stuff (not like TAGs though, more like HI or MI/LI in cover) and then the templates are great for cheerleaders. Stat for stat the hellcats like an inferior wildcat, but the fact that you can so easily put it in a favourable place means a single hellcat would bring more benefit than a lone wildcat. If you dont feel like going the AD way, add in more infiltrators. Easiest option would be to change one wildcat to another minelayer. With two you can get some real area denial going and pave a way for those big heavy hitters, prowler/intruder. Having a lone intruder as your lieutenant is interesting, but okay. The special order he will gain will be highly useful, as an intruder is like a sponge to your order pool. I'd be inclined to do a similar thing to your 2 wildcats in your 300pt army, but other than that it seems good. edit; just noticed you have a second combat group. I feel the spektr hacker can situationally be a devastating shock hacker, but I've never had it work for me. They have a high enough willpower to make an offensive hack, but it requires a few things to go the right way. However as he is alone, he only has one chance to make a hack as you cant share orders across combat groups. If you're hacking a TAG it wont make much difference as you can only try once per turn per hacker anyway, but you probably still want him to get away as he's an expensive throw away otherwise. Maybe wrap his points back into the original combat group by promoting an alguacil to a HMG intruder. You have a bit of SWC spare and I will add that I use my wildcat models as alguacils when I go that way, seeing as how the models kick ass it would be lame to not use them

To be honest, for the moment, the wildcats are just there because they're in the Corregidor starter box which I'm planning to buy. But I could swap one out for a hellcat as I get one of them in the starter box too. Also, the hellcats are sweet, sweet models.
And okay, I'll try that, I've heard very good things about the intruder HMG...

Well from my POV, in the sectorial wildcats are great, outisde; lacklustre. But I only have one alguacil model; that hacker from the corrigedor sectorial. Wildcats work for me, as there is the HRL chick for a missile launcher and the spitfire fella for a HMG. But still its worth running them in vanilla and see how they work for you. Maybe I'm just tired of them being instagibbed by a hunzakunt or fiday when they lack Sixth Sense Lvl2 And response to above: Yeah I'd be happy with those two. I'd still feel its worthwhile to take a 2nd zero in your 200 list but its up to you. Nice work

Okay thanks. This might be a silly question but when I swap them, that gives me 4 SWC and 199 points... Do I need the extra point to have 4 SWC?

No, you don't. You get, IIRC, 1 swc for every 50 points in the points LIMIT. Your limit is 200, so you get 4 swc. I think...
PS: you know that there are no link teams outside of sectorials? I'm asking because the Alguaciles in the first list seem very link-y to me...

bahz is correct about SWC. Whilst the Alguacils are not linkable out of the sectorial army, they are still the best option for cheerleaders in vanilla from my view. Asides from moderators struggling to shoot a can 5ft infront of them, I would rather bite off my arm and give it to my dog than pay 2 SWC for a lieutenant. I have no idea why its that in vanilla when its only 0.5 in the sectorial (making it quite attractive) so I steer clear of them there. True you could swap the alguacils that aren't your lieutenant into moderators to save a couple of points if necessary but then your lieutenant is obvious. ...edit; here's hoping my overly sarcastic hyperbole doesn't sound dickish after reading that again can I even say dickish on here? Guess a mod will clean it up if not... bit OT now though...
