I'm very curious about picking up the "Planetstrike" "Cities of Death" and "Combat Missions" books but am curious about whether they're worth the money or not before ordering them. Can anyone give me some insight into these books so I can make an educated decision?

Thank you

Cities of Death is a great book. It's got some really cool painting.modeling advice and galleries, especially if you want to make city terrain or play Imperial Guard. It also provides a different way to play the game.

Planetstrike isn't really that well-loved, but I'm not too experienced with it. It can be easy to make a really imbalanced defender setup, but as long as you're both focused on a thematic game that shouldn't be an issue.

I've played a few Battle Missions. Some are neat, a lot are just a minor change on something you've already played. It's okay. I can't speak for the Altar of War dataslates they've been putting out from time to time, or how those stack up.

I've got battle missions, and while I don't use it often, a fair few of the missions are cool. It's great if you're more from the narrative than competitive crowd, and you should be able to get it pretty cheap 2nd hand.

Planetstrike I never bothered with buying, we just say that all units gain DS if we want an 'orbital assault' style setup. None of the fancy rules or anything.
