I am modeling a bastion for a friend and he wanted the bolters mounted 2 on the front and one on each side?

Is that legal. It says in stronghold that it has 4 emplaced bolters but it doesn't say where they are. Also according to the BRB it just says it may have 4 bolters?

What do you guys think? Would 2 on the front be modeling to win. He just doesn't see why you have a emplacement in the rear and i kind of get that.

As there is an official model for the Imperial Bastion, any models which do not match this design fall under the vague legality of 'conversions.' Should it be modified in such a way that the conversion has a clear advantage over the original, people will call this 'modeling for advantage' and that leads to all sorts of problems even without the vague legality. Some will simply demand that the original model be substituted while others may simply refuse to play against a player whom isn't using default models.

Even flexible players might get a little defensive depending on just how much advantage being discussed.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

On the same logic, many guns on tanks dont have a very specific location mentioned, but it does not mean you can place them anywhere you want.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.
