I've seen a lot of writeups on the Deer (Dark Eldar Baron Sathonyx + Eldar Farseers/Warlocks) Council, but I haven't seen much documentation on what is used to round out the list. Labmouse42 gave a very detailed description on what makes the Council work, but he was vague as to what constituted the rest of the army ("4 wave serpents, 2 venoms and 1 ravager").
I'm a bit unclear as to what is actually included in those transports. Are you filling the Wave Serpents with Dire Avengers or Guardians? Is it worth 15 points to put haywire grenade Wyches in your venoms instead of naked Kabalites? Is your Ravager using Dark Lances or Disintegrator Cannons? Could the Deer Council work effectively with another troop composition? Could Windrider Jetbikes fill the troop slots effectively, instead?
I've got a few questions, but searching the forums hasn't really turned up answers for me so far, and any tips would be appreciated.
P.S.: If Windrider Jetbikes can work, would Warp Spiders work well with them?

My council takes the field with a single kabalite filled venom, two Wave Serpents with 10 guardians + BL, and 1-2 squads of 3 Jetbikes.
I have less in the way of troops because I take a Wraithknight and some Swooping Hawks with it.
Wyches v Kabalites - I take warriors, because I want to keep my troops alive. They are slightly more survivable, and Wyches would have me too tempted to push forward with them. Haywire grenades are handy, but make them more costly and prone to me over-extending them.
Guardians v Avengers - I take the ten guardians as I have 2x10 units of nicely painted ones. People take 5 Avenger units because they're cheaper, but you get less. Avengers are more capable of contributing, and I would be taking a unit of 8, if I had them painted better. I also take guardians for the BL. My list only includes the Wraithknight and Council that can combat Armour. Swooping hawks to a lesser extent. Those two Bright Lances are a handy backup.
Jetbikes are used pretty widely by Council players. They are cheap, easily hidden, and highly mobile. Two units will set you back only a small cost, and they will win you games (at least against opponents that fail to target them).
Warp spiders can be a great supplement. But be wary of the cost. You've invested many points into the council, Spending too much elsewhere will hurt your scoring units, and they are the ones that win games.
---Having written that, i'm re-thinking my own list to include more jetbikes

Deer council, seal council...anywayz, you can literally take anything from msu avengers in wave serpents to small squads of jetbikers - it doesn't really matter. They'll all be quite powerful and annoying to play against.

Daemonic Dreadnought

2 farseers, baron , seer council, and some wind riders is the core of the list. From that it can diverge in many different directions because there are a lot of good units in both books.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Nah most likely they will write the tank off before hopping away with a slight limp... then the tank commander is left with a massive excess charge to the insurance company, and has to instead deploy a cruddy proton savvy courtesy tank instead until a replacement is delivered... and despite its name there is nothing 'savvy' about it!
