So just getting back into fantasy and throwing up a couple lists to find a good place to start with armies that appealed to me.

Lords:

Wizard Lord- General, Lvl 4, Dispel Scroll, Talisman of Preservation (Lore of Life)
Magic defense and buff man

Heroes:

Captian- BSB, biting blade, enchanted shield, crown of command, full plate
In with halberds, center of moral

Witch Hunter- Brace of pistols, charmed shield
Hunt peoples lvl4's

Core:

30 Halberdiers- Sarg, musician

Detachment 15 Swordsman

Detachment 15 Swordsman

Block and chaff

10 Handgunners- Full Command
Wizard hides here and maybe Witch hunter

9 Inner circle Knights- Full command

Special:

4 Demigryph Knights- Preceptor, Standard Bearer

Great Cannon

Rare:

Steam Tank

Let me know what you think? Really looking to get back into fantasy but want an experienced opinion first. Really wouldn't mind looking into Skaven also but having trouble finding beginner lists.

Looks good to me, just not sure about witch hunter.

What would you replace him with?

A warrior priest (remember his powers buff detachments as well) having a 5+ ward or re rolls to hit is fantastic.

While I see the appeal from a competitive angle the Priest isn't an aesthetic choice for me. How are engineers?

Engineers for this list would be kind of pointless, you pick a cannon, roll an art dice if it missfires awesome re roll, if not so sad wasted 65pts.

Gotcha. Thanks for all the great advice everyone. Really more settling on Lizards or WE but if I do settle on Empire this is the list I will build for. Once again thanks for all the help.

If you have any models, proxy them as different armies and barrow a codex and figure out which army you like best, plus it gives you an idea of each army as well.
