I've been noodling around with the "Endless Swarm" formation shown in the Dataslate#2 preview.

1500 points:

HQ: DakkaFlyrant, or "Winged asassain" (Wings, Lash/Bone sword, Toxic) 230?(My winged asassain has TL Brain leeches modeled to shoot from his elbows)(but it cost 15 extra to buy it)

Troops: Warrior (x3) Rending claws x2, Deathspitters x2, Cannon 120
Troops: Warriors, as above 120

Heavy: Trygon (modeled with Pincer tail) 190
Heavy: Trygo (modeled with Toxin spike tail) 190

Formation: The Endless Swarm

Hormigaunts (x15) x 3, 225
Term, or Spine gaunts (x20) x2 160
Warrior brood: as above 120

That should run 1355. so I have 145 left to spend...

1) Toxic on the Hormies 135, Thorax swarm on the Tyrant, 145
2) Mawloc, Thorax hive for tyrant....I am loving this one right now... (need to scroung 5 extra points)
3) Adrenals on the Warriors (45 pts) and a Zoey brood (x2) ...also really liking this some good shooting, Hive Mind Power, and Synapse!
4)Brood of Gargoyles (x20) 120, buy the TL Brainleeches for the Winged asassain 15, Toxic on the trygo with the Toxin Spike tail 10, 145 I am also really loving this one, But I don't own Any Gargoyles, so I'd have to both paint and buy them....

So what do you think? 1) Is this a legit contender?, and 2) what should I finish it out with? Please don't hesitate to suggest other options.

OK, at breakfast today I was figuring out a 1650, and a 1750 version...

1650 Build 1500 pt army with option 1 Toxic on the Hormies, lose two Spinegaunts, pay for TL Brainleeches for Winged asassain, buy 3 Zoeys
That should be 1647. Put the Zoeys in two Broods for two rolls on Hive Mind.

Or...Upgrade the Tyrgons to Primes (80 pts) give two 10 point upgrades (Toxin sacks, or Thorax Hives) and buy 1 Zoey . Lots of Synapse, and plenty of upgraded monsterous creatures...this would still use option 1...or use the Mawlock option( #2), drop two Spines and pay for the TL Brain leeches, plenty of "flavor", and an effective force...

Sad little bump, 'cause some folks expressed interest...

Oh and the Formation is wrong, the preview showed 3x,2x,Warriors. It should be 3x,3x, Warriors... so you should run the Spinegaunts as 15x,15x,10x....(or spend some of the extra here...)

A Lictor or Leaper would be nice to give a little more control on the tunnels.

Word, though I am unsure if it is "better" than the other options Those last few points can really be a conundrum. I suppose if I have points free a Dakka'rant would be a much better buy..? (Need 85 at 1500...can buy it easy at higher levels)

Though Deathleaper , the Ultimate Bio-Ninja! Is pretty temping
