Hello, I had a question about the feel no pain rule, on hormagaunts specifically. The rule says you can not roll FNP if the weapon causing the wound causes instant death. Is that meant to be the actual rule, Instant Death, or something that is twice the strength of the target? Becasue if that is the case then hormagaunts or any T 3 model would get no FNP roll for any wound caused by a str 6 weapon. Seeing as one wound models are instant killed anyway regardless of the str of the weapon, I am lead to believe that the weapon causing the wound has to specifically say it has the Instant Death" rule. Am I wrong?

S6 causes instant death on T3 models, so you would not get FNP against S6 or above weapons.

So, you are wrong.

You are wrong. If a model has a T3 and gets wounded by a str6 weapon, ID is attached. Pg. 16 spells it out for you.

Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!)

So the special rule Instant Death is the same as the game mechanic instant death that removes all wounds if the firing weapon is double the T of the target? As far as the FNP roll goes at least? So if my hormagaunts get hit with a str 7 large blast for example, they are SOL on the FNP roll?

Yes

The wound only has to be cause instant death, it doesn't have to actually inflict it (which is why having Eternal Warrior doesn't prevent FNP from getting ignored either)

The special rule Instant Death is not just the same as the game mechanic instant death, it is actually the same rule.

You can get the Instant Death USR by a weapon having its Strength double that of the targets Toughness, or by a weapon having the Instant Death USR no matter what its Strength is.
