Subject: 2000 Ultramarines List. Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly!

Slippery Ultramarine Scout Biker

Well, it's that time again. Time for ANOTHER Ultramarines list. I know, we're all tired of seeing them. I would just like some positive feedback (don't hold anything back) from you gents and ladies in the community. So, w/o further ado, here it is:
HQ:
Chief Librarian Tigurius (165pts) (thoughts on placement?)
Pedro Kantor (grouped with the Sternguard)
Elites:
x10 Sternguard Veteran Squad (335pts)
x6 Combi-Melta
* Drop Pod
Troops:
x9 Scout Squad (154pts)
x9 Sniper rifles
x1 M/L
x10 camo cloaks.
x10 Tactical Squad (195pts) Combat squaded
x1 Melta
x1 Combi-melta (sergeant)
* Drop Pod
x10 Tactical Squad (195pts) Combat squaded
x1 Melta
x1 Combi-melta (sergeant)
* Drop Pod
x10 Tactical Squad (210pts) Combat squaded
x1 Missile Launcher
* Razorback w/ Heavy Bolter
x10 Tactical Squad (210pts) Combat squaded
x1 Missile Launcher
* Razorback w/ Heavy Bolter
Fast Attack:[i]
x3 Land Speeder Squadron (225pts)
x3 Typhoon Missile Launchers
Aegis Defense Line w/ Quad Gun (100pts)
Total point value = 1974
My thoughts are to bring in the Tactical squads, combat squads for each pod, in on Turn 1, and have combat sqauds using 5 marines in the Razorbacks and the other 5 holding down objectives and providing anti-tank capabilities with the launchers (granted, it's only a STR8 weapon, and would only do decently against AV11/12).
I will split the Land Speeders into seperate units to provide covering fire for the DP tacticals, while the Razorbacks move in on Turn 1.
The Sternguard will come in on Turn 2 (so they're not annihilated on Turn 1).
I can't figure out where to place Tigurius.
I realize there aren't any TFC in this list (those are in the mail right now, so when they arrive, I'll remove a Tactical squad w/ a Razorback for them).
Please, any feedback is appreciated. Let me know what you all think.
Thanks!

I take it you are using allies to get Tig and Kantor in the same list?
Which units are using UM tactics and which ones CF tactics?

You can’t just mix and match HQs these days. If you want to ally in Kantor, he’s going to need his own troops, etc. If I were you, I’d drop one of the characters. Pick a force and stick with it.
I’d drop one man from the sternguard and put the HQ in with them. Pods only hold 10 these days. Also, cut half the combi meltas out. 3 should be enough to kill a tank, and 10ppm is a little high. If you want to add more firepower to the squad, consider HFs. I find they have good synergy with the kind of targets the special ammo is good for.
I like a HB on scouts, YMMV.
Call me old fashioned, but I like the one heavy, one special on the tac squads. Grab the MM to join the drop squads. With UM chapter tactics, both the tac and dev ones will help you fire it on the move.
If you are going to leave a heavy weapon behind combat squadded, invest in a PC or LC. And if you are going to be moving part up, grab some specials and give the sarge something. And frankly, you’ve got plenty of troops, swapping one of these guys out for a dev squad would not be a bad plan.
For a 2k list I’d like to see more AA fire. The quad gun alone is not going to cut it. Shave points from wherever and upgrade some of those speeders to talons. I do like the speeders, but air cover is important.

I would drop Pedro, and just go UM Chapter Tactics (no allies).
I'd drop the Aegis and camo cloak/rifle scouts for a Stormtalon or two. Scouts are good if you keep it bolters (55) and outflank them.
I'd also drop the razorbacks to keep the typhoon wielding speeders, as you make these changes (put the tacs in pods).
I don't really know that Tigurius helps a whole lot in this list, other than the reserves stuff, but it's gonna be hard to put him out there on turn 1 and not give up first blood and warlord... he's a tempting target. If you do this, maybe load up the sternguard with combi-plasma and go all-out to alpha strike a riptide or MC; then put Tigurius with a Tac squad so they have to choose to intercept him (go for warlord) or the Sternguard (prevent losing a MC). Be sure to drop the Sternguard in range of Tigurius' warlord trait so he can help them to hit with the plasma shots! I guess you could go for puppetmaster or gate (for the sternguard?) on Tiggy and hopefully he'll survive the drop to use it later.

All I know about Tigris is centurion grav cannon squad. On another note land speeders are good as double flamers or double multi melta. On the razorback squads the combat squad not in there give them lascannons. Since you seem like you want Pedro you have to ally him. I would take the sternguard down to 9 in the pod with 9 combi-(flamers or melta). And as the required troop choice take the scouts off the main and split them into 5 each 4 snipers and the desired HW (HB is my personal favorite). I love storm talons but not all people like flyers.
