I've been playing out of IA:1 for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. Of Corse it has that giant flaw of lack of scoring units. For a 1500 point list how many soring units is idea? I also know that 1500 points is not where the armor group shines because I played one of 2500 and it was a amazing.

I think in general most people go for one troop for every 500 points.

I'm working on a 1500 list right now which has 2 AF squads and 130 points left over. 2 scoring units seems ok, they don't give you much power and you need as much firepower as you can get in an ABG. I think that ABG could work very well with a Knight as its scoring unit, adding to armour saturation and counter assault.

I used to use one of 2 options. Either centaur AF squads as the centaur is so tiny it can be hidden completely out of LoS by a leman russ hull or inquisition coteaz henchmen in either razr backs (HB psyammo), chimera (bolters and plasma or melta), or valk (3x flamer).

Now I am waiting to see how the imperial knights rules fall out when they get a codex as two of them would be much much better scoring and would combine ridiculously well with a bunch of AV14 long range support.

Thanks everyone I'm currently running two sourcing units and two sourcing units with my ally guard unit. I wasn't sure if I cut a squad or two if I would still be ok.
