Working on putting together a dread knight and looking over the rules... Any reason a dread knight equipped with the great sword a doom fist would not get the bonus attack for being equipped with two close combat weapons? I've got this nagging feeling they don't, or at least didn't get extra attack before 6th edition (when I last played with a dread knight) but its been a while and I could just be imaging it.

They do, afaik. In fact, you get the full bonuses of both weapons since the sword does not require attacking with in order to use its rerolls.

It's in the GK FAQ that they do indeed get the benefits of both weapons. So yes, +1A for two weapons and all the benefits of the Greatsword while punching away with a Dreadnought CCW...

Yeah, ain't it great. . In all seriousness, I have actually apologised to a few of my friends for having an MC that has S 10 without having to Smash to get it, let alone all the re-rolls because of the sword.

Also, those weapons are Force Weapons with Daemonbane, allowing DK to potentially ID any creature it can get a wound on (sans EW).

daemon bane even ignores ID and EW rules, it just removes psykers/demons from play on failed LD...

but yes, as is mentioned before, check the GK FAQ, its plainly states you get the +1 attack at str10 with the rerolls

I bought a nice GK army when they came in 5th, but I cant play them any more. I cant stand apologising to the opponent for my stupid codex all the time.

that torrent flamer against xenos though. Its still one of the best MCs in the game.
