so if you pay for a big squad of 30 all with devouers, sure you have 90 shots but you certainly will loose some models and only get a turn out of the devourers when you could pay less and only loose one shot and get more out of your points.

bassically thats the main idea behind not having a full squad of devourers but I'm not sure what ratio is best. I've been running a big squad of 30 with a 50/50 ratio, it does pretty well and against most lists as I don't tend to lose many devs. any way let me know what people have found

I'm currently using a brood of 30 with 20 devourers and 10 spinefists, I outflank them with Hive Commander. When starting them on the board I pick somewhere between 10 and 15 in a brood of 30 depending on points.

Yeah 2/1 ratio is pretty good. Nothing wrong with 50/50 though, kinda depends on what you see. I use all Spinegaunts, and now go 2/1 in favor of Spines (so 10 Devils, 20 Spines)

I don't think anyone has found a "golden" ratio ...yet...
