The track record from GW of late has been to deliver a dataslate or mini-codex when ever there is a desire to sell some of the more purpose made models to players who may not be playing those armies. Its a good business plan in my opinion. What do you think the odds are that we will see a dataslate or digital codex that allows any imperial army to field one or all of the four assassins printed in codex grey knights?

Not that the imperium of man needs more units/access mind you, I'm still a little miffed the assassins and Valeria were omitted from the inquisition codex.

A non imperial force I could see coming out would be a kroot mercenaries codex or dataslate. What do you think? What else might GW reprint up some rules for ?

I think there's a good chance, if they keep going with this. They'd fit it, being a sort of side-faction within another army and often working with different factions in the fluff.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I'd quite like to see a Kroot mini-dex, if only for some variety. The recent releases have all been Imperial, and mainly benefit Imperials from an allies standpoint. They'd be a nice change of pace. Also a chance of them happening, given that they also fit the criteria above.

Ork Freebootas seems like a solid shout for a specific ally formation effort.

I really am hoping for some of these. I also think it is a great plan for GW to bring in some extra cash on a more regular basis than when the dexs are released.

I could see a whole series of mercenary mini dexs such as;
ork freebootaz
eldar corsairs
rogue traders
adeptus mechanicum
imperial knights (oh wait, already confirmed for release)
kroot mercs
genestealer cults
etc.

I support this manner of expansion.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Most likely Kroot. I don't think Tyranids can take any of those.

Codex: Ultramarines.
Codex: other Ultramarines.
Codex: Ultraultramarine.

In fact, why not have a separate codex for each member of the Ultramarines chapter? That would be much more appealing than a bunch of useless codices about assassins or kroots.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
