Subject: Doubt about the Lucius Pattern Dreadnought Drop Pod

Can a Dreadnought in a Lucius disembark in the turn that it arrives??
In their rules doesn't specify who can disembark as says in the ordinary drop pod and we have the doubt
Also we don't speak a lot of english so we can be making some mistakes in the translation
|
Excuse me if you don't understand something, english is not my first language |

Yes you can disembark, but you don't have to.
It's under the Deep Strike rules, any unit can disembark from their transport when arriving.

As above However note you have a real benefit from staying inside the turn you land.

it is also an assualt vehicle that provides shroud on the turn it lands.
the dread that gets out, on the provision it remains on the doors of the pod has shrouded too.
so it might actually be better to get out so you can shoot.

You can shoot from inside as its open topped.
No reason to get out unless you REALLY need target saturation.

Open-topped that's moved at cursing speed.
So snap shot only, which isn't great.

if you have to snap shot with the dread inside you would outside as well.
there really arent any rules pretaining walker shooting while moving cruising speed, since they cant do so in any other situation.
Honestly, i dont believe he has to snap shot. The only rule pointing towards that is the passanger rules, and those are pretaining to infantry. As a walker, it has express permission to fire 2 guns, unless it has run.

he has to snap shot if he remains a passenger, the embarkation rules say so. Automatically Appended Next Post: it also has no permission to ignore the snap shooting imposed on it by the passenger rules, while embarked it is under their influence as the walker shoots like infantry and not a vehicle, hence why there are no rules to say what happens when walkers go cruising speed, because they move and fire like infantry

i dont believe it says anywhere that they fire like infantry.
In fact they specifically do not fire like infantry, having the allowance to ignore heavy penalties and having permission to fire 2 weapons per turn.

regardless of the walkers normal shooting, IE regardless of their rules that allow them to fire heavy weapons on the move, or to fire 2 weapons.
when it disembarks from a transport at cruising speed, the chart at the back of the book (and the transport/damage on vehicles rules) says it must snap shot... just like terminators with heavy weapons, or other troops with assault weapons... they have to snap shot out of transports that moves at cruising speed, EVEN IF they disembark.
look up the FAQ, it plainly states that they still snap shot/count as moving/cant shoot after they disembarked from the vehicle that moved at crusing speed or was stunned/shaken or whatever caused the effect on the passengers initially.
