Need some help working out the cost effectiveness of my Grey Knight army. I've got 110 points left to spend and I can't make up my mind whether I should take the conversion beamer techmarine or add psibolt and other bling elements to the rest of the army. The army consists of a librarian and ordo malleus inquisitor level one psyker in termie armour. I've then got a vindicare and two 10 man strike squads, one with psicannons and the other with incinerators, the last one has a rhino transport. Then there is an adl with quad gun and two psirifledreads. The allied detachment includes Belial and a squad of termies with a cyclone missile launcher.

Definitely go psybolt ammo to your strike squads if you already haven't. The change from S4 to S5 is huge, wounding on 3's for the majority of infantry in the game makes a world of difference and allows you to even glance lighter vehicles as well as more reliably wound monstrous creatures in a torrent of firepower.

The conversion beamer techmarine is fairly limited I'm afraid as you can't give him a bike which would allow him to relocate himself for better ranges+damage meaning he's too static and vulnerable to dump a lot of points on a small blast template that gets weaker as your enemies get closer. Also he only has 1 wound which makes it easier for your investment to go poof very quickly.

Maybe some of your grenades would also be nice for the inquisitor? Rad, Psychotroke and blind grenades are all great in confounding and screwing with your opponent's unit.

psibolt ammo on stormbolters is amazingly good, and it makes any psycannons in that squad str8 which is also a good boost.

basically any infantry squad that has more than 5 models and a psycannon should have psibolt ammo.

Psybolt ammo does not affect psycannons, they remain Str 7.

techmarine is a very expensive ranged attack to add to a squad. I'd suggest considering making him a grenade caddy for CC instead. With one wound models that are expensive as he is, increasing his value relative to his survivability even more is a risky strategy.

Psybolt is very much worth it on 10 men squads.

Techmarine is very fragile for his cost. I'd say get toys for everyone else.
