I understand many of you will be skeptical from ordering from the like of aliexpress etc, and additionally, I am totally unaware if this is in fact a re-cast/ripoff of another IP so if it is, please delete.

Anyway, I was browsing yesterday for kits that can be donor walker/mech legs and came across this on aliexpress.

$23 with shipping and a good height. I intend to use it to inform how I am going to build my own legs structures out of other parts, including door hinges, nuts and bolts and wood etc, that I may cast as well then depending on cost of those parts.

Plan is for it to be part of a scrapper servitor mech that was working on salvage operations on a crashed ship. Sort of like a big penitent engine with the servitor pilot strapped to the front and then obviously wrecker style claws/hands/plasma torches etc

What has drawn me to the kit other than the price is the skeleton. I haven't found many other kits that have an internal skeleton for the mech that are cheap.

I watched a youtube video this morning of someone building the kit, I like the look of it from the video, I think for the price it will be outstanding.

Depending on the specific quality of the plastic will dictate whether I splash out on one of the titan fall style mechas from there as well.

Spoiler:
Which have been posted before I think

TBH, the main reason I bought the above kit is because it seems to have a fairly well articulated skeleton to build upon from, not so much interested in the armour as I plan to use my own.

Obviously I could use gundam RG 1/144 of for something larger MG 1/100 for this also, but I don't want to quite spend that much on a donor model, when the main thing I want is the skeleton.

I do have plans for a Zaku Warrior Lunamaria Custom or something of that aesthetic at MG 1/100 at some point which will be a donor model, but I'll use most of the armour plate in a way also. It may be a zulu geara, or geara dogu of some sort after a custom was posted very early in this thread that I adore at 1/144, let alone 1/100.

I'll do a small review of sorts with size comparisons etc when I get the above kit from aliexpress.

No problem, there's no commentary so I highly recommend listening to something else or just having it on mute by the way, the music is awful

My order of these arrived today:

They're actually alright, they're going to be great as donor bodies or just parts/models here and there for scenery anyway.

Cannot complain at £7.83 with shipping also. Got to love aliexpress

The 'Not a Dreadnought' is in scale BTW. They're the only 2x I'll probably not use as they're too obviously not normal dreadnought models and will stick out even carved up on terrain.

There you go!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
BTW, they're resin and I've had to do a bit of work to get some joints to fit, and one or two are a tiny bit warped but honestly, for the price and their intended use I am not fussed at all.

Making a fairly huge assumption that I have any idea there is a miniature company called dust studios in existence, let alone me knowing they produced kits that this is a copy of.

I've just gone and looked anyway, I apologise, zero idea, the only fairly familiar model to me in there are the 'not dreadnoughts' which are basically useless to me anyway.

Noted.

However I'm not fully against Chinese replications, usually I use them before buying a legit model/kit for certain reasons, like testing a paint scheme or running through a modelling concept or, well, if I'm not fully using the model anyway, I only want a bit of it. Morally not the best, I get it, but also, I don't want to spend full retail price on something I'm just going to carve up, like the set above anyway, none of those models will look like they do now once I'm finished with them.

Getting hold of OOP models like you have said also is another reason, got some DKoK grenadiers on the way as I always wanted a squad to paint.
