So...I've been pondering this for a while and am looking for suggestions/advice. I loved my dark eldar in 5th. They were so much fun to play. They hit hard and fast and required finesse and strategy. I ran a wych heavy army, lots of raiders, a few venoms, bikes and/or hellions. I loved playing up close and in my opponents face. In 6th, they just dont play the same. I mean - the same type of lists are just not as good. In my experience, that style of play has them being eaten alive. Wyches absolutely melt to overwatch and vehicle explosions.

I played a daemonette heavy army a few times and my LGS and loved the way they played. They tore apart my eldar - which has been my army of choice since my DE dont like to assault the way that they used to. So - my line of thinking is that it would be so cool to convert some of the DE stuff i have kicking around into a chaos daemons army. Fluff wise, it cant be more perfect. DE whose souls were finally overtaken by Slaanesh and possessed or whatever, into daemons of Slaanesh.

I was thinking of maybe getting a few boxes of daemonettes and using pieces from them to convert a bunch of wyches into deamonette/wych hybrids. I'd do away with the splinter pistols, obviously, and maybe do some body part swaps here and there. I was thinking of taking my hellions and attaching them, flying base and all, along with either some DE beasts or something else suitable, to cavalry bases to model as seekers of slaanesh. Even though I hear they suck maybe i'll use venoms as the basis for those fancy Slaanesh chariots? Maybe do some cool stuff with avatar/demon prince parts? That's as far as I've gotten. Mostly I just super dig the fluff aspect of it, and am itching for a fun way to start a Slaanesh daemon army without just slapping down a bunch of dollars and starting from scratch.

My caveat here is that I by no means am a good modeler - Ive never so much as bought green stuff. But the idea has been kicking around in my head for a few weeks and I was just hoping to get some input on it. What do yall think? Anyone have an suggestions/advice/new kitbash ideas that I haven't thought of?

Actually, in official current fluff, not a single Chaos Eldar is known, not to speak of a whole army. Not sure if this hit into the face of official fluff concerns anyone in your gaming group.

I have a load of DE/eldar bits that I had been toying with putting into a daemon army. I love the fluff and imo I say go for it

Body swaps etc should cover most of your ground work, a little bit of GS sculpting to get you into it then you can sculpt a little more as you improve. Here are some ideas I found/liked:

Could a Grotesque work as part of a DP conversion?
I've also always thought Wracks would make for a nice chaos-related conversion.

Whatever you choose, the bits do seem to match up well, despite the fluff.
