So I am getting back into 40k after about seven or so years and after getting a great deal on some IG I've been toying with different lists. As this is my first list in a long, long time I am looking for all the C&C I can get.
HQ

A couple things I'm concerned about would be the PCS and the tanks. I was planning on my PCS manning the quad gun so I just stuck some flamers and a GL with them, but if those points are better used elsewhere I would cut them. As for the tanks I think 1 executioner, 2 standard BTs and maybe a demolisher or some other variant would work better, but I'm new to IG so I may be wrong. A lot of the people at my FLGS play SM (BA), CSM, Orks, and Eldar. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm, I'd suggest taking a astropath so the Vendettas are more likely to come in turn 2, otherwise AV 14 is gonna be invunerable to you. Other than that the list looks fun, not sure it would be too competitive but can definitely win games:-)

The astropath would be nice. What would you suggest to make it more competitive?

The PCS should have x4 flamers and in a vendetta, its a great late game unit to kick the opponents troops off an objective and then take it, small and easy to hide.

I think most people instead of taking a HWS with the 3 infantry groups would just upgrade 2guardsmen in each infantry group. Im pretty sure it saves you some points, and it allows you to hide them in the blob.
