Was at a store, and I saw a GW/Citadel Coloured product. It was PAINTED. It was a piece of terrain with tree stumps and grass. I picked it up. I think the guy at the store said it was like 20 years old. I said you had it for that long? Yup he did. It wasn't bad, but I thought hey, I don't have to paint it and got some GW terrain now.

Just wanted to mention it since I NEVER saw anything from GW painted before, always dull grey plastic or metal or Finecast. Just wondered if I should have got the last remaining 2 lol.

GW used to make a fair bit of pre painted terrain. Back home I have 2 pieces, one is a Rocky Mountain with a ledge and dwarven door, the second is a ruined imperial shrine (I think it was called the Sanctuary) that came with coloured stained glass windows (a coloured plastic sheet).

They look great and they're so sturdy. GW should make more again!

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Oh I forgot about the stained glass runis. Yes that was nice. Thanks for the reminder there.

I am afraid what GW would charge now for something painted. Maybe 10X the price they charge now.

I guess you could make a case that the old card terrain was pre painted, since the textures were printed on the card in full color

The LotR Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith wall sets were painted. Really nice pieces, I wish I had gotten the Helm's Deep.
