Hello everyone
I've been pulled into the
40k rift by a friend of mine, and now I yet again sit facing another horde of tiny, unpainted soldiers.
I've never played
40k, or any
WH for that matter, so this is an entirely new adventure for me. I plan on playing the Lamenters: Yes, I'm aware of the on table/off table/fluff level of pain that I'm in for with them. They can't hurt me any more than my American dice did in
FOW, or my
D20 did in D&D.
Which brings me to my off again/on again table top gaming experience. I'm still a member of the 7GD Flames of War group, which operates out of Vancouver,
BC. We're on a several year hiatus right now (moving, kids and changes of work will do that to a group), but we actually co-hosted several
FOW tournaments with another group (a
WH group, actually).
Right now, I have a fully operational American 504th RCT para's, a mostly painted Itilian Berseg. force, a mostly painted Sperrverband force, and a lot of very unhappy FJ and Brit motor coy units that are still sitting in their boxes & blister packs.
Where am I going with this?
1) I'm a huge proponent of lots of terrain, as is the rest of my gaming group.
2) I'm NEVER letting my
CC take control of my gaming habits again
3) At least one of the above is 100% true.
Before that, I guess I have a history of
RP games... SWD20, D&D (2e-4th), Paranoia... dating back almost 20 years now.
Now, our group tends to focus more on the beer & pretzel board games. My current stable is: Killer Bunnies, Unexploded Cow, Munchkin (basic and zombie), Deadwood, Zombie Town, Last Night On Earth, Eclipse, Arkham Horror and Kittens In A Blender.
