Hey guys. Was wondering if anybody knew a link to a pic or model image of GW's earliest form of Avatar of Khaine. I got a boys birthday coming up and he's always going on about a "Babytar". He's got the forgeworld Avatar and he loves it and its painted like a boss, but strategically the tiny little Baby avatar is the way to go for cover saves. I have no idea what this model looks like or what addition it comes from. Any help and information would be great. Thanks in advance.

The old Avatar is probably from Second Edition. It has a spear in one hand and a cloak on it's back, and as I recall it's not much bigger than the old Eldar metals.

It is.

Rather TFG to use it over the new one for the single purpose of cover saves, though...

Yeah, if I have an opponent who isn't willing to play it as though it were the same size as a stock model, I don't think I'd willingly play that guy again.

That's the one. It's either from Rogue Trader or very early 2nd edition, as the current Avatar is the one which accompanied the 2nd edition Eldar.

Totally agreed.

Still, sounds like the guy is using the Forgeworld one. It's significantly larger than the official GW one, so despite being a lot prettier and actually representative of what the Avatar of Khaine is, it's "worse" from a technical game standpoint.
