What army is most popular wherever you play, if they use allies, just count the primary. Mine is space marines, but I play chaos so Veterans of the long war comes into effect more often.

Missing Necrons, My local group is pretty spread out but I see a few more Cron players than most others.

I call them the Dark Black Grey Blood Space Wolf Angel Templar Knights.

I have a pretty big diversity in my group. I think Imperial Guard might out slightly outnumber the rest of us though. Or Necrons.

Also missing Nids. But my local shop is sky high of standard Space Marines, or SM in general. I bring IG to mix it up. Space Marine on Space Marine action is kinky and all but need to break it up every once in awhile. We also have a lot of Ork players, but they have not brought the Orkz out in awhile. Home games are more fun for us, between my friends and I we have every army so we are not having the same army duke it out.

Yep, that is one fethed up and terrible poll.

Man, I'm hearing a lot how Necron, Eldar, and Tau are some of the most played factions right now (supposedly due to strength). Does a large portion of our hobby always jump to the new power army now? Back when I started this (picked up hobby a year into 3rd Ed.), people just picked the army they liked best aesthetically/fluff-wise and stuck with it through good times and bad. I've always been a chaos guy, and when Daemons dropped in late 4th, I was all over that too. Likewise, one guy in our group has been playing dark Eldar since he and I went in on the 3rd Ed starter kit, and we even have a poor Black Templar guy. Sure, we've all had our ups and downs, but we all still have fun. It just seems so shallow to pick up an army just to crush your opponents into the dirt

well i voted eldar because it is what most people bring out. I know alot of these guys have eldar, and have had eldar armies for years, you can tell by the models, but it just seems that when the new dex comes out, thats what they want to play with.

Oddly, CSM/Daemons. I almost never get to use VoTLW.

We have like 6 people playing Tau right now, and only 2 who regularly field their Codex Marines army. We had a lot of Dark Angels players at the drop of 6th but they all quit because they got tired of losing once the Tau and Eldar codices dropped and we had players regularly fielding armies we couldn't beat.

...I guess that would be SM, since we have one SM player and one who has the SM part of DV.

Otherwise we only really have people playing unique armies, that is, armies that only they play.

We have one guy at our club who has roughly 9 different space marine armies, all painted to their correct chapter.

Chaos...so tired of Chaos...

Second it would be marines yet there never played, last year would have been marines then 'crons.

Here in Louisville we have a campaign running so I just took the numbers from that. It is pretty diverse...

Space marines, space marines, and more space marines. We just came out of a golden age where everyone was playing a xenos army of some sort. But now with the new marine codex it seems like almost everyone is marines again. Out of 7 games last Tuesday at our store. Me and another were playing eldar/dark eldar, and 8 people were playing marines, 2 were IG, one was chaos(marines lol), and one had tau but it was allied to marines.

Personally, whenever I go to my FLGS for our monthly tournament there are always at least 7 or 8 eldar armies out of 20 players. It's frustratingly boring playing against them. They are either Serpent filled or wraith maxed.

However, for regular gaming nights it's a bit more even. The only army I never see is DE. We even has a SoB player who shows up regularly with a beautifully painted army.

It feels wierd to say, but now that I think about it, We've got 4 CSM and 4 IG.

Honestly at my gw, there is at least 1 of each army to play against. I voted sm because many new players start there, but we have 2 sob players, 4 gk players, de, eldar, several guard, etc.... great balance....

That's lucky mate, at my local gw it's full of space marines and dark angels. I play dark eldar and I'm lonely
