Hi guys - I am thinking of getting some Imperial Armour books now that GW has allowed units from any GW publication in its tournaments.

My problem is that from what I can work out, there is not a book for each army (as would probably have made more sense.....)

So for a player of Eldar, Ork and Space Wolves - which books would I need to get for access to all the rules for possible additional units please? Or is there a way of finding this out through GW other than going into Warhammer World?

Thanks,

Eldar and Space wolves are covered by IA11: The Doom of Mymeara. Orks are in IA8 : Raid on Kastorel-Novem. The Ork book is a bit old now, although both of the books have out of date parts. IA11 was published before the new Eldar codex, for instance. However, Forge World do update things on their web site, although it can take them some time.

First unless you want the fluff then do not get IA8 or IA11 as they both are out of date rules and you will have to buy new books for the rules.

Next head over to http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/fwDownloads where the wonderful folks at FW have given a bunch of free pdf's with new SM special characters and chapter tactics. Great stuff.

Okay if you want the rules for your armies you want the following.
The books that have units for all the armies listed;
Imperial Armour Apocolypse 2013 (not the old Apoc and not Apoc 2, be careful as it is easy to mess up) which has the SH and a variety of other units for all the armies.

Aeronautica which has all the flyers and AA.

For all the power armour armies the Imperial Armour second edition has the rules for a variety of units in it.

The secret to figuring out what you need in IA books is that each of the books has it's contents pages on on the product listing.

Note that IA1second edition has units for guys in power armour.

Also Frontlinegaming has a list of units and where the rules are. http://www.frontlinegaming.org/imperial-armor-unit-index/
