Hey Dakka,

I've recently decided to go with the Mars Alpha pattern hulls for my Russes (because they look sensational) but have a concern that can only be answered by someone who owns one.

In regards to the sponsor mounts, can they fit on? I've looked at various pictures and it seems like the regular mounting point on the sides of the hull is covered up by a panel. Does anyone have any experience with fitting the sponsors to a Mars Alpha hull?

I guess the Mars Alpha patterns are pretty rare...

All of the pictures of the russes on the forgeworld site are of the conversion bits on the old russ kit. Those panels used to be extra bits that you just left off when mounting a sponsion but they are now solid with the hull and a little more shallow. I'm pretty certain the complete kits come with the new hull sides so the sponsions will fit on no problem.
