I have been helping make terrain for my LGS for WMH. Right now I am working on a Train yard project. First Im using a Lionel O-guage steam locomotive which was in rough shape and I am restoring.

Now to my point. Who thinks it is a good idea not necessarily a cool one, that the train can actualy funtion under its own power even whistle and light up? Also I have no darn idea what colors to make the thing! I have only so far primed the engine and its coal tender. Do trans kingdom train lines exist in Iron Kingdoms? If so is there an Emblem or color scheme? I cant seem to find it!

Both Khador and Cygnar (and possibly Ord/Rhul and occupied llael) have train lines, they're rare, but there. Cygnar, or course, has the most. Don't know of any particular paint schemes, but I recall a Khadorian armoured train in an official diorama, but it was just in basic colours. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/blog/444364.page

There was even a special mission released that had rules for randomly moving trains that could slam your guys around if you weren't careful. Can't remember where that was, however.

NQ #24 I think (or thereabouts) has a LOT of information about trains in the Iron Kingdoms. I think it's only a buck or two on their digital app, so if you want to read up on it that's a cheap way to do it.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Yes I have seen that train. The scale looks waaaayyy to big. IRL assuming collosals did exist there is no way a Collosal would be riding on a flat car like that. Im planning on getting a flat car and breaking up a heavy warjack and model it so its components are strapped down under tarps on the car.

#24 you say? Ill have to take a look.

If you have access to the Iron Kingdoms RPG core book there is a write up about the rail systems and trains themselves. I can try to answer specifics questions if you don't have access to the book.

Even a fairly decent sized picture of one of the trains.

Well right now im trying to figure what colors would be on the train. Is there such a thing as a neutral train line? If not ide probably go with Cygnar but again pops the question what colors should it be?

The picture of the train is a Cygnar train. It is black and dark steel colored. Main color is black with the steel being secondary. Looks like there is also some gray...but that could just be angle.

I dled the NQ issue that discusses trains. From the looks of it, the train resembles what we had back in the day when locomotives were used. I dont think there is a Cygnar swan emblum I can put on it because I cant freehand for crap. im going to aim for cast Iron black with the front of the boiler being steel. I notice the engine has lots of tubes and wires on it, and I wonder if i should add color to those. They are mainly located on the top or side of the boiler section of what im working on. I dont see much contrast color from the train in the NQ issue.

Khador probably has a national government rail line. Cygnar is probably a combination of government railways and privately owned corporations, likely linking up to rail systems in Ord and Llael.

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

I would probably paint the train in neutral colors, maybe steels and darker tones, with a few Cygnar swans in various places to show nationality.

im thinking thats what I may do. I just will need to stencil the swan on since I cant free hand for crap.
