Stormteks go one each in the n scythes. Trazyn ans all the lords hop a lift in the ghost ark. Doomsday arks find area terrain with lines of sight and sit back and drop death.

No to the Doomsday Arks. They don't seem to gel with this list. This might be one of the rare instances where a Monolith or two would come in handy.

If you're running a RCDI, you might want to include some Harbingers with them. Particularly a Chrono-tek. Possibly a Veil-tek.

Hm... I quite like the gelling. Three high strength, low ap pie plates on 4 hp av13 bodies sitting around the table. Enemy kind of has to deal with that. Meanwhile court is crossing in other av13 assault tank. Doomsday ark concentrates on eliminating anti air before scythes come in.

What would you run with the death court instead? Would be cool to know what you think would synergise better and why?

I know I could get, say, three annihilation barges and a wraith unit and then throw a chronometeron into the court, but I like the idea of playing the three big guns...Even if tanks aren't great...

These big guns are incredibly vulnerable. They can't move, lest they lose their full strength shot, thus making them incapable of jinking. Any other long range army is going to eat them alive turn 1. If you're lucky, you'll get to keep one of them.

No, that RCDI looks decent as it is, but like I said, throw in a Chrono-tek and/or Veil-tek to make it highly functioning. One thing else I would add is at least one Phase Shifter for the group. That guy goes up front to tank any AP2 or better shots. Actually, were I playing a RCDI, I'd probably replace two of the Arks with Annihilation Barges and use the left over points to get as many Shifters into that unit as I could (with at least one Chrono-tek. Nothing like being able to reroll a failed inv save).

Love the idea about the phase shifter/s.

Have you ever tried multiple doomsday arcs? I have a decent Taudar army. The only thing hurting the doomsday arks would be nova charged ion tides. I have three. I would take out one ark a turn. I kind of expect most armies to do that. I guess I fear sky ray and riptide heavy lists with it...

I've wondered about getting a skyshield for them (which I could afford as a trade with the storm teks...). Do you think that could help? My main aim is for the doomsday arks to thin out opposition and distract the enemy from the rapidly approaching assault squad. I don't mind if they all die if they kill some tough guys and my ghost ark makes it across the board....

No, I don't like the vulnerability of Doomsday Arks (having to sit still to fire the gun at full strength means no jink save against return fire). There are better ways to deal with things.

If vehicles are a concern, the normal procedure is to stick a Veil-tek and two Storm-teks together to make a mini Royal Court... but as you've already got a big melee court, that's not possible unless you get a second Overlord (which might not necessarily be a bad idea). Alternatively, you could throw Obyron in and attach him and a Storm-tek to a squad of 10 Immortals. That would have a good chance of causing havoc in your opponent's back field on turn one, as once you wreck the initial vehicle you were aiming for, your opponent will think he's suddenly got a scoring unit with an attached Warscythe to deal with. That'll throw off any plans he had, making him shift his priorities to deal with the sudden more immediate threat... but little does he know, you can just Ghostwalk somewhere else in your following turn, possibly to take out another vehicle, or even just go sit on an objective.
