Hey there, I was just wondering what sort of yellow imperial fists are traditionally? A darker Averland Sunset yellow or a brighter Flash gits/Yriel yellow?

I've seen then in dark yellow, bright yellow, and everything in between. It really depends on what look you are going for; the darker yellow.

I highly recommend the scheme and method used by BuyPainted on Youtube. Simple, fast, very good looking. Airbrush based though, and he uses Vallejo colours like I do. Vallejo Golden Yellow is the base yellow, shaded with thinned burnt umber and highlighted with... ice yellow?

I've been painting imperial fists for years and have always liked the bright yellow approach over the darker/yellow brown imperial fists you see sometimes. Last time I went to gamesday, most the imperial fists entries into golden daemon were of the yellow brown variety and i was a bit disappointed that the fists seemed to be going that way. New GW colours, averland sunset base, yriel yellow and a highlight (blast from above with airbrush) of Flash gitz yellow. There's just something about bright yellow marines striding across a battlefield that seems awesome!
