Hey guys,
Noremac here with another fantastic, or potentially terrible idea. I have this idea that has been gnawing off the back of my mind for a while and a few of my buds are really trying to push me to do it.
The idea?
An Elysian and Tanith Codex.
I know, I know. Lame. But, is it? I know that IA has some good Elysian rules out there, but in my opinion they need a bit of adjusting. As for the Tanith, the only thing I have to work with is the abundant fandexes
floating the web. Don't get me wrong, what others have done is some fantastic work, but I feel like I could throw a few curveballs in their to really spice things up. And keep in mind when I say an Elysian and Tanith codex
I mean two seperate codices. The reason for this codex? I myself play two armies: White Scars and I.G. A good buddy of mine plays Elysians with some homebrew rules my gaming group allows. However, I am interested
in getting into both Elysians and Tanith. The just seem so badass. So, would all my time and energy be futile? Is this a lost cause? What should I do? And that's where I turned to my resources; Dakka Dakka. You guys are
the best! So please, let me know. Would you think this a good idea? Would you be interested in helping me out along the way? Or am I crazy? Don't hold back. Don't be sensitive. I'm preparing for the worst.
Happy WarGaming,
-Noremac

Id rather, instead of dedicating a codex to one regiment that you make a codex for creating your own regiments. The have a section with rules (using the ones in the custom area) where you show which rules make up famour regiments.

I think I explained it. But yea rather than a focus on one regiment try encompass all plus more.

As to either I'd rather focus on a Doctrine system for the Guard book that lets us put together Armoured Company, Airborne (Elysians and others), Recon/Light Infantry/Skirmishers (Tanith and others), and other sorts of folks with just one rulebook.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Those are really good ideas. So if I'm not mistaken, AnomanderRake you agree that it should just be a guide to creating your own regiment vs. an entire codex? Maybe creating up a few special characters or even rules to create your own! I've always loved the idea of creating your very own special character. (More than just giving a model a cool name/or changing its prior name). How do you suggest I go about this? Where do I begin?

It's all in the rolls.
