I'd suggest Two Flying Tyrants, and many seem to dislike the Exocrene, maybe Dakkafexen? Oh and Zoeys, you can always use more Zoeys...

I would be worried about synapse with this list. Any player that is experienced against nids will just shoot the tervigon turn one. Once it's gone, the flyrant will either have to turn back and play babysitter or let the rest of the army take IB tests. Drop the tervigon for another 30 terms and some zoans.

If you don't run venomthropes then I would drop exocrines for mawlocs and add hive commander to at least 1 flyrant so you can outflank a troop. Try for 4 flyers, 2 mawlocs and an outflnking troop in thier rear lines T2 ...

A bastion with comms relay would help here as it gives +1 to reserves and some LOB blocking for the flyers on T1.

Venomthropes and zoanthropes would help this list alot.

I'm trying to play real man's 40k , wysiwyg and fully painted , no allies or battle brother!!! All points are valid , that's why I'm asking. I have some warriors and a prime and ordered some of the other stuff , waiting for it to come in in time.

I've been running 2 exocrine's with good results. what I've been doing is trying to get in like 6 to 7 MC then flood the board with as many little bugs as possible. Remember it becomes harder to focus on attacking synapse when you are drowning in all types of gaunts! The crones if used carefully can be really good too. The strength 8 VS has worked really well.

But again what I believe is really ruining 40k as a balanced competitive games is allies and data slates . Also a tournament should not have ridiculous proxies. I understand not everyone can afford everything (it is only a game). But then you should man up and play with what you have !! Not use ridiculous proxies on the latest fad to help you win! As they say on NFL network , "come on man!!!!".

Example: at a tourney I played a gentlemen named Amir from the TOGIT store (great guy). He brought a brutal list with 2 wraith knights , broadsides , sky landing shield etc. But guess what not only was he WYSIWYG but his units were all really nicely painted. He took the time to assemble his army properly instead of cheering out with ridiculous proxies to help him win. He did end up beating me by 2 KP's in a super tight SUPER FUN game. Also if allies , data slates etc. are allowed in a tournament I don't blame people for bringing them. I just think they are really distorting the balanced competitive aspect of 40k.

Buy a Flyrant, 3 zoanthropes for passing out onslaught to exocrines and FNP, and spend the last 15 points on 15 x TS on either your gargoyles so they draw more fire.

I agree and admire trying to have the whole army wysiwyg and have a beautifully painted army. It is a good goal to strive for.\
However what you said is just isn't correct. In tournament games, experienced players will know to just shoot out the synapse if there is very little on the board. Then they can deal with your MCs or little guys at their leisure. You may fluster some of the newer players when they see the swarm of bodies and MCs comign across the board. But good players will know where to focus and then the army will fall apart.

Good point , Nids need terrain. I noticed at torrent of fire their boards had a lot of LOS blocking terrain. Chines new year has nerfed my zoanthropes , ordered 4 and still waiting....:(.
