2500pt list I am thinking of fielding in the near future. I have been running mostly monstrous infantry of late and a mostly warrior list before that. Just looking for something a little different. Let me know what you think and if it will work out the way I hope!

Lord:
Sorcerer Lord-- Lv4, 4++ ward, dispel scroll, sword of anti-heroes

Heroes:
Exalted-- MoTz, BSB, dragon helm, shield, 5++ ward, iron curse icon, biting blade

Core:
Chariot-- MoS

Chariot-- MoS

4 x 5 Warhounds

18 Marauders-- MoS, flails, sb, mus

18 Marauders-- MoS, flails, sb, mus

16 Warriors-- MoTz, hw/ sh, full command, razor standard (Lv 4 and BSB in here.

Special:
5 Chaos Knights-- MoS, lances, sb, mus, banner of eternal flame

6 Chaos Ogres-- MoK, great weapons, sb, mus

Rare:
3 Skull Crushers-- ensorcelled weapons, sb, mus, gleaming pennant

Should be close to 2500. I maximized drops to place my strongest units last... I basically can put 4 units of hounds and both chariots down before committing anything serious to the field.

I have recently finished some conversions that I am really gunning to play in a list. I made Ogre/ Minotaur Chaos Ogres, Thunderwolf cav Skull Crushers, converted chariots, and the warriors are a bestigors/ chaos knights/ chaos warriors mash up. I have been playing with a more "feral" list style... in fact the marauders are a mix of beastmen parts (gor heads and ahw arms).

For the list itself, I have the knights and the Crushers to move quickly around a flank, 3 infantry blocks screened by hounds and supported by chariots, and the str 6 Ogres bringing in a ton of attacks.I will admit, though, that MoS is everywhere just to stop panic... a little power-gamey I guess, but it made sense in my head.

Haven't decided on Lore choice as of yet... any suggestions? I was thinking heavens for the theme.

**Note: I brain stormed this list sitting at work... so if anything is "off" (or outright illegal...) please let me know!**

Man that's a lot of slow moving dudes.

One concern is seeing stuff like new Dwarfs, which are gods at range. I can't see any way you won't do anything but get beaten to snot by a serious gunline+war machines. You got some fast movers but they will get decimated going over there solo.

You can stop panic, but you're going to lose let's say 20-50% of your army before you meet them. And guess what, they're still awesome when you meet them.

I think that one army book, as well as HE/DE are going to shift more of the game to ranged. Having a M4 core is going to be rough.

I'll tell you that swapping to Forsaken(!) or Marauder Horsemen (if you want to stay horde-y) will give you speed. The Forsaken, expensive as they are, are 4+ armor, fast, and have some kind of boon.

If no one in your area is going to be playing ranged, you're fine. But if it's like everywhere else on earth there will be Dwarfs, and I bet you will get hurt bad.

I love the idea but marauders are a real tough sell for me now, even though they still look cool. I think you could still keep a barbarian horde theme by going chariots and marauder horsemen. Chariots are awesome and they have that barbarian feel.
And if you still want the footslogging marauders I suggest sticking them in one massive block with wulfric so you can arrive behind your opponents gunline and laugh while he panics.

Thanks for the comments, even if they were none-to-encouraging

On the list:
I hear you about ranged damage and, yes, I have played against the new dwarfs (once...). With 4 units of hounds (potentially 2 vanguarding), reasonably fast units like the knights, skull crushers, and Ogres, plus the (comparably) high number of bodies offered by the marauders I was hoping to survive the arrows and warmachines long enough to get in the thick of it.

I like the idea of adding Wulfric with a single unit of Marauders (around 30 maybe) as well as the prospect of a unit or two of marauder cavalry to apply more early pressure, but have not used forsaken as of yet.

The question is, where can I find the points? Dropping the two chariots is my first instinct.

Whenever I used to use marauders I always ran them together in one horde for survivability. And they still died like flies before getting to combat against shooty armies, seeing your horde of 50 marauders drop to 10-20 before they even get to combat is disheartening to say the least.
And this is when they were even cheaper its widely aknowledged that the points increase was justified, but I just didn't have much success with them before the points increase so just stopped using them.
Play test it and see how it goes use proxy models in a friendly game and if you like it then go for it.

I have been playing Warriors for a few years now and have always liked the way Marauders have played.

Last book they were ridiculously under priced and needed the points hike (maybe it went TOO HIGH), but this edition no one runs them.

Frankly, if someone is shooting at my Marauders then I could care less. Whittle down my unit while my harder, faster units slam into your lines.
