I need advice from people who have some experience here - there is a tourney coming up soon that will be allowing all supplements, dataslates, and Forgeworld 40k approved at 1500.

How do you deal with knights and revenants and baneblades at 1500 without taking that stuff yourself?
It comes back to the D weapons, and the fact that if your opponent has them and you don't, you are probably boned.

How can we beat those beasts with standard 40k models?

Void sheilds. As I understand the rule, they are the only thing that can take a hit from D weapons.Just be sure how the event will run them. GW meant for blasts to be only one hit on the sheild, according to Memphis GW reps, but that is not clear from the way GW wrote the rules.

Also lots of Tankhunter ,Armorbane, and haywire weapons, as you are going to have to chew through 9-12 hull points on AV13-14 vehicles.

Both those lists are hard counters to the likes of knights and super heavies, but will get eaten alive by Tau interceptor and horde armies (though you're much less likely to see the latter).

Judging from the title of your post, I assume you are attending the same tournament as Shardq? If so, his 6 broadsides and riptide with EWO are going to eat that for lunch (not trying to be rude here, just a heads up)

As a general principle, I don't like running drop pods unless they're pretty much full. 35 pts a pop is pretty cheap, but it starts to add up when you're only putting 4 guys in there. Yeah you've got more pods so more come in turn 1, but you're not getting any more bodies on the field unless the pods are full.

And as for your predicament, well, all I can say is keep on fighting the good fight, mate :thumbs up: It's really hard fight D weapons without them. If you're looking to do it with the "standard" 40K stuff, I think flyers are probably you're best bet. There's not a whole lot of the D shenanigans that have skyfire so if you have the models, a marine or necron airforce might serve you well. Maybe even a daemon flying circus? if they've got a whole bunch of points invested in one superheavy sacrificing one DP to go smash the hell out of it might just work

Again, good luck, ye white knight
