hi just started a tournament which happens slowly over a month or so.. knock out.. with a list I have to stick with until I loose a game. This is the list:

1 spiritseer + 5 wraithguard in wave serpent with SL+SL holo
2 x 10 Guardians in wave serpent with SL holo
3 Vypers with SC+SL
1 Wraithlord with glaive and bright lance
1 falcon with SL Holo and Spirit Stones
1 falcon with Bright lance Holo and Spirit Stones

I have to admit this list was supposed to have 2 fire prisms instead of the falcons but they didn't arrive until 4pm on the day of battle at 6pm and tried like crazy but since they had to be assembled and painted (rules) and they weren't so took falcons. I was sure AV14 would be death of me. But I won in 2 turns and only lost one guardian unit and its wave serpent. against a sm list with 3 melee assault units (termies plus wolf guard) in 2 rhinos and a AV14 land raider and a long fang unit on foot.

what I learned: go first: my list obviously lacks anti heavy tank and lacks anti air but by focusing so much fire power it shredded so much of the opposition so quickly I was also suprised that the soon lone land raider did so little. I was lucky taking 2 penetrating hits but also did 2 glances too. 2 turns of 2 pulse lasers and 2 bright lances. I know there is a battle report page but I am sharing this because this is list in use atm and it did much better than I thought and it all went so very well. early days ofc. nervous of helldrakes necron monoliths and fliers but there you go. by focusing with weakness in mind it has worked thus far

The Twilight Zone

As soon as you can change, take your prisms over the falcons. The S9 lances are excellent AT if they connect. Another thing would be to drop the stones off the falcons for a second bright lance on the lord. Wraithlords always need dual guns.

The rest of the list is solid. Remember your wraithcannons can be very good AT if needed.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

well, seeing as you have to stick with the list there isn't much feedback I can give...However, assuming you will lose eventually(This isn't a negative, it happens to the best of us) here is what I would change:

A walking Wraithlord with fast Skimmers is bad. You will probably outrun this guy in most of your games. I see the need for a counter-assault unit, but it needs to be able to keep up with your army(Read: Wraithknight or Warp Spiders). Spirit Stones are expensive, and if you remove them and a Falcon you can get a Wraithknight.

If you don't want a Wraithknight, I would reccomend at least investing in some Warp Spiders. They are fantastic, and will definitely be able to keep up with your skimmers.

I'm hesitant on Vypers...They are fragile and in my experience Warp Spiders also out perform them. The little buggers are also kind of expensive for mediocre damage output.

yes I liked the fire prisms a lot, I wanted them, but what I found is (to my surprise) that 4 str 8 shots (2 twin linked) plus 2 str 8 lance shots a go is actually ok, in an odd way so far working as well as 2 str 9 lances would - and yes the wraithguard are a weak but optional back up anti tank.. I guess my only surprise was how well it worked (the list is glaringly bad on paper until I used it)

and, towards that last point: yeah, I have 20 warp spiders, and I love them but the vypers do very well for me in every game (ok i've used them in 2, but they were the biggest hitters in both games and got no reply in both), not "great" in and of themselves but because are usually part of a tank horde they literally don't get shot at. (they are in amongst the high fire forward moving volume hitting units.. so much str 6/7 shooting twin linked with ap1 rending is just insane) so they go round a corner and then what was there is made gone

the wraith lord? he hangs back mid board near the falcons and tends to be standing as a juicy target option, don't tend to do much more than wander him about mid board - the board is only 4x4 ft in this tourney so he's been fine so far - I didn't go for 2 bright lances partly because the model is set with one (this is a painted+proxy-less tourney, even down to the weapons)
