Long time lurker, figured I'd throw some questions at you folks and see whats what. But first pull up a chair for story time!

I played many moons ago, 3rd edition I believe. Space Wolves since 2nd edition (Old enough to remember Ogryn as fieldable IG units...) Had about 3000 points there. When Necron were first introduced I jumped on Space Egyptian Undead because I swear with a night of hot dice THEY WON'T DIE! Then an (now ex) girlfriend stole my armies and hocked them for nose candy...

After a few years of poverty and some soul searching about my choices in women I have gotten back into the hobby!

A buddy of mine gave me 2 snap on "Tactical" squads made of mostly Bolters and I think there is a flamer in there. 2 Dreads, and a Stormtalon. I've also purchased a Wolf Pack and a Devistator Squad to convert with left over bits, and the old wolf Logan Grimnar himself.

I've read some posts here and there saying the Dreadnaughts will get glanced to death (poor Bjorn :( ) and I've made most of the Wolf Pack box into Gray Hunters/Lone Wolf to fill in the other blank marines with some flavor and flash. What else would be good with 2 Gray Hunter or Wolf Guard squads, a Lone Wolf or two, a Stormtalon if it's fieldable (there seems to be debate about it...) and Long Fangs. I plan to find and purchase a termy Njall soon. And possibly some Term Wolf Guard for more heavy stuffs.

Also, what is the usual point game these days?

Points range from 1500-2500 typically, although if you want a decently balanced game you can do really well from 500-1000pts.

Also, Space Wolves are starting to show their age, so now isn't a bad time to get in some fun games with the expectation of losing and learning the ropes at the same time. We should get a new Codex before the end of the year, or very early next year at the latest, so if you build up your skills now you can be ready to rock for then.
