Subject: CSM Anti-Armor Overkill?

Planning on trying a slow and steady advance with 3x 7 squads of Plagues with Plasmas, 1x 20 squad of CSM led by Apostle, fitting 2 plasmas in each with a Heldrake for some air-cover.
The glaring hole in the list being anti-armor. Which me to the crux of the question...
Are 2 Tri-Las Preds and 3 Obliterators firepower overkill?
With the advent of Knights, Lords of War and the ubiquitous Wraithknight and Riptides all around, not to mention plenty of Nid MCs, pretty much every army has it's own big baddy these days, and I'd say they could be quite useful in a pair to support the infantry advance. Where I'd likely struggle would be against Dark Eldar saturated with lances or some las heavy IG...
The oblits of course could either support the advance on the ground or deep strike, and always turn down to auto cannons/assault cannons etc if faced with hordes, which the 41 bolsters ought that handle fairly easily anyhow.
Overkill?

If by "overkill" you mean barely enough, then sure.
Since you're going for the whole "slow and steady advance" wave thing I'd say ditching the tanks and taking max oblits would be perfect for you if you can find the points. Otherwise, I'd go with combi-preds because lasboat preds aren't worth it, we had a thread arguing about this already:

Wounding Wraithknights on 3's and Riptides on 2's versus 5's and 3's while ignoring armor saves is a big enough difference for me to go Tri-Las, not to mention handling AV14. Sure they'll still have their invulns but why give them even better? Saving 50 points also isn't going to do much to help the above list anyhow. Two extra plague marines or some gifts for the champions.

The oblits get no autocannons fyi.

This really isn't that much. Predators with autocannon and two lascannons imho are pretty much the same thing but cheaper, so I would go with that. Its hardly overkill as lascannon's aren't actually that good.

I think you need termicide with combi meltas. Pairs of oblits MoN. Plague marines with meltaguns in rhinos with combi meltas on it n champ.
5thed nurgle csm was av overkill bcuz there were no flyers, titans forts.

Obliterators never disappoint. Always take votlw and Mon though. I would usually walk them up the field but then i usually play spawn/daemon rush so they are lower priority for most enemies to vaporise

Personally not a huge fan of termicide. Had it work out spectacularly before yes, but so much rides on that scatter being in melta range. Most of the time they're wiped off the board with ease before they get a chance to do anything.
